I don’t know what it is, but lately I’ve been getting a ton of requests from women asking, “What to wear to a job interview!” I’m going to be honest with you, I love it because I’m all about seeing women go out there and hustle hard and find a job that they love. When it comes to interviewing, you want to make sure you look your best and feel your best. You want to exude confidence and feel like you can conquer the world. I’ve always believed that a dress isn’t just a dress, it’s something that can truly transform a woman and how she feels about herself. The perfect outfit for a job interview is like wearing a superhero cape!
What to Wear to a Job Interview
When it comes to trying to decide What to Wear to a Job Interview, I’m all about a DRESS. You want to look professional and I feel a dress is the BEST way to go. I found the perfect one at Lands’ End and this dress I will have forever and ever and ever… and if Lands’ End releases more colors, I will buy every single one of them! I am OBSESSED beyond OBSESSED with this dress! My husband was out last week, so I had my oldest son help me with some photos. He was making me laugh so much and it was tough because the lighting kept playing tricks on him, but he tried his best and I really just wanted you to get the jist of how AWESOME this dress is for YOU!
Lands’ End calls this the “Everything” Dress because “Sweet simplicity. How we love it in a dress – makes it easy to wear in so many ways. With or without a jacket, with a scarf or necklace (or both or neither), with a million different shoes. In any season, too. That’s the idea here. You like?” So as you’re thinking about what to wear to a job interview, the reason why this dress calls my name is because it’s just appropriate and professional. It’s got the 2 fashion ingredients that you definitely need when heading into an interview, but it’s also PRETTY! You want to make sure you give off that vibe, too. You want to feel fashionable.
Yes, as you can easily tell. I love this dress. I love this dress because it really does check every single job interview box for me.
Let me share a little fun beyond just wearing for this a job interview. You can also wear this dress in a variety of different ways, which I just adore about it, too!
It’s the PERFECT work dress.
It’s the PERFECT date dress.
It’s the PERFECT girl’s night out dress.
It’s the PERFECT holiday dress.
It’s the PERFECT wedding dress.
You can really wear this ANYWHERE! But for me – why I really loved it and wanted to share because it is suitable for what to wear to a job interview. A shift dress is a great dress because it also works on any body type. It’s the kind of dress that regardless of your age and your size and your height, it works. It’s a flattering cut and fits perfectly, amplifying every spot on your body that you want amplified and making you feel comfortable at the same time, too. I personally love this color for an interview because I think it’s the kind of color someone will remember. “Oh, that woman in that pretty peach dress!”
I wanted to try and capture more of photos in the dress because I do feel like I wanted you to get the full picture. The lighting was a little off on these photos because it over-exposed the coloring of the dress, but these are some of my faves!!
And I have to say, the shoes are my FAVE, too! These shoes are also from Lands’ End, too! I bet you didn’t realize just how adorable the shoes are there. I love scoring some of my fave heels, flats and boots there for the seasons. You can also hit some incredible sales! Do not miss out on these when they’re up and running.

My tips for trying to find the best dress for a job interview when you’re trying to find what to wear to a job interview, regardless of your age:
1. Look for a Shift Dress.
2. Make sure the dress hits right around knee length.
3. Do not go in with a straps. Always wear a blazer or find one with cap sleeves (like this) or long sleeves.
4. Make sure you find a color that you love.
5. Make sure you stay away from a white dress. I feel like a white dress isn’t professional enough for a job interview. A black dress is ALWAYS safe for anyone, especially if you’re afraid of sweating!
