Who To Write Letters To – 30 Days of Letter Writing

My kids were telling me they were “bored” the other day, so I sat down and wrote 60 things for teens to do at home. I figured it was time to make a list! One of the tasks was to write letters, which is a dying art form. The first question on my sons asked me was, “Who to write letters to?” Immediately I started spewing out different people they could connect with by letter. It got my mind brewing for another post (ta-da!) 30 Days of Letter Writing!

Who To Write Letters To – 30 Days of Letter Writing

Who To Write Letters To - 30 Days of Letter Writing

When I was in college I would write letters to my Nana and my Grandma every single week. That simple gesture meant the world to them because it was a way for us to stay in touch while I was “away.” When you’re thinking about who to write letters to, look within your own circle. There are people there that would love to get letters and cards from you, especially right now.

In a world that has been taken over by technology (which is a very good thing, I’m not saying it’s not!), we’ve lost the touch of letter writing. It’s so easy to text or email someone now, why write? I’m trying to change that during this stay at home time and hopefully beyond for my kids. When they posed the question – who to write letters to? – I gave them 12+ prompts as to who to write to.

It got my thinking further for them, too. Who else could they write to just to thank or to check in with? Who else could they brighten with a letter?
