Backpack for School: Twinning with Mom

It’s almost time for back to school for my crew. Our 1st official day is September 3rd and it’s safe to say that I’m ready for school to start for everyone. It’s been an amazing summer, but I’m looking forward to routines and schedules again. I’m actually CRAVING routines and schedules. As we’re prepping everyone for everything, the backpack for school is a big topic of conversation in the McClelland household, especially for Victoria.

Backpack for School: Twinning with Mom

Backpack for School 7 A.M.

Let me start from the beginning of my backpack for school story to set the “scene.” Victoria is a little nervous for 1st grade this year. I didn’t expect this from her because she loved kindergarten so much, but actually… that seems to be it. She loved kindergarten so much that she’s super sad not to have her kindergarten teacher again this upcoming year. I know that 1st grade will be awesome for her, but she just doesn’t know that quite yet.

She’s been so apprehensive about it that she asked me if I could go with her to school on the first day. Like actually stay with her all day. When I told her I couldn’t stay all day, she looked even more nervous! To ease any additional fears, I told her that we would do 1 thing every day till school started that would get her ready and prepared. We started a couple of weeks ago and each day we’ve done 1 little and big thing, they’ve ranged from playdates to school suppplies to driving past the school, etc.

Thankfully my little girl loves to shop (just like her mama!), so we’ve been stocking up on some fun fashions and styles for back to school. Her BACKPACK for school was the biggest topic of conversation. This is a really big deal for a 1st grader. a REALLY BIG DEAL. Victoria wanted something pink. She wanted something camo (because she knows I love camo). And she wanted something soft. Those 3 things were her requirements. I never ever thought I’d find something.

But then! It was like the universe handing her a high-five when I saw 7 A.M. Enfant backpack selections. If you didn’t know 7 A.M. has backpacks, now you do! They are amazing and they had exactly what she was looking for – something pink, something, camo, something soft.

How great does she look? This backpack for school is perfection! I’m all about making sure she’s going to be ready for the 1st day of school. She’s my little lady and I want her to be ready to rock and roll. I don’t want her filled with any nerves or anxiety. I know that it’s not fun when you’re heading off nervous, so anything I can do to help her – I’m willing to do! Also – I love it, too. It’s the perfect work bag!

I couldn’t believe it and then I thought of a “little” plan. I know I can’t stay with her at school all day, so I told her that we would get #twinning backpacks for the new school year. This something we do all the time and we love it, it’s become a passion for us to do this together. I thought it would be the perfect answer for her nerves, so whenever she was missing me during the day, all she needed to do was look at her backpack and know I had the same one with me, too.

Mommy and Me Twinning Styles

She loved that idea and thought it would be even cooler to get matching key chains for our backpacks, too. So if you see us #mommyandmematching in the new school year, you’ll know why! Makes me smile to think that we’re matching on the backpack front. As I’m getting ready to head off to work meetings with my camo backpack, she’ll be getting ready to rock the hallways. I thought it would be a special thing that we have with each other and hopefully will make sure smile when she (or if she) feels sad.

Make sure you check out this backpack and all the selections. There are so many different options and styles. There are things for boys, too! My sister fell in love with the bag and wanted the diaper option. I think it’s just the best thing to have a backpack for school that you child loves. It really does set the tone for the entire back to school celebration!
