What Every High School Student Needs for Back to School

This post is sponsored by Intel, but opinions expressed are my own.

This year I’m experiencing something new as a mom as I’m prepping my kids for back to school time, I have a high schooler! My oldest son William is going to be a freshman in high school and this is completely new territory for me. High school is a big deal and it’s something that I know he’s excited about and really prepping well for on his own. As his mom I’m doing everything I can to make the transition to high school as seamless as can be for him. I want to set him up for success as best as I can. I know he has to do all the hard work, but I want to make sure he has all the right back to school essentials to help him out. That’s where I come in!

What High School Students Need for Back to School

As a mom of 5, I can tell you without hesitation that I do everything that I possibly can do for my kids. I make breakfast every morning for them. I pack their lunches (of course each child likes something different). I help with homework and drop-off at school. I’m at the bus stop for pickup every day. Snacks are always ready when the kids some home. Personally, I love it. I grew up with 2 parents who heavily involved and I vowed that I would be the same way to my kids someday.

With kids heading into 1st grade, 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade and 9th grade this school year, there’s a variety of different things that each child needs as they’re prepping. I’m going to be honest with you here, high school is definitely a bigger step for us and such a new one, I’m realizing that William really is leveling up this year. There’s more schoolwork, more homework and more activities to balance. It’s the BIG leagues now and I want to make sure he’s ready.

What’s one of the biggest essentials William needs this year besides notebooks, pens and pencils? A Chromebook.

Chromebooks from Intel Processor

I went to Walmart and got William a Chromebook powered by Intel® CoreTM i3 Processors. Walmart has incredible prices for back to school, especially on Chromebooks, too. Having this kind of technology at his fingertips is something that will help William excel and succeed this year. I know that this year is the beginning of his high school journey and I love knowing that his Chromebook will grow with him this year and for the next 3 years, too. School is so much different now than it was when I was a teenager and I personally think it’s incredible to have this kind of technology available to students.

Getting a Chromebook for your kids will enable them to upload videos twice as fast, browse 2.7x faster (2), and load Google Docs up to 3.6x faster (3). Assignments are turned in now via Google Docs and it’s something that I love having William get to know inside and out. A Chromebook makes it so much easier to collaborate on group assignments, take notes and do homework. As a digital entrepreneur I think it’s essential for kids in high school to learn the benefits of using a Chromebook powered by Intel® CoreTM i3 Processors to assist in their education.

It’s a whole new world out there and our kids are learning fast. The digital world isn’t going away, it’s getting bigger and better. It’s so important to give kids these incredible advantages for their education. Walmart’s everyday low prices make it easy and doable for parents to bring in this kind of technology for their kids. We all know that back to school shopping can be pricy, but I love and appreciate that Walmart keeps price points reasonable and low for us.
