Permission to Hustle Podcast: Why Every Entrepreneur Needs a Vacation

Our Permission to Hustle Podcast hit 60 EPISODES today! How cool is that!? This podcast is something we started in October and have just love growing it and really taking the time to share bits and pieces of who we are and what we are all about with other women (and men). We’re both full time working entrepreneurs, or momprenuers and we both are very committed to growing and building our businesses to be the best that they can be. We’re determined to have our children see our hard work and (hopefully!) have it motivate them to go out and do what they want to do in the world!

Permission to Hustle Podcast

When we started this Permission to Hustle Podcast with the hope of giving someone a dose of business advice in a fun way. We wanted to share advice and tips that we’ve picked up along the way and also interview some incredible women doing some pretty incredible things. It’s a wonderful way to share information because you can (literally) listen to a podcast in the car, on the train, in the air and even just at home. The way to consume a podcast is pretty easy and I love that about it. It’s a fun way to get stuff out into the world without having to worry about hair and makeup!

We started with 1 episode a week and have grown it to about 3 a week now. Sometimes you get us both, but other times just one of us. When we have something to share, we film it. It’s that simple. When something is top of mind, we film it. It’s a really fun and easy way to capture someone’s attention and really have an outlet to be able to get things out there!

I gave our Permission to Hustle Podcast a listen last week from the beginning and really loved that as we got going with it, we started to open up more and more and more. We started to laugh and really get real and raw about ourselves and our lives. Working full time and raising a family isn’t always easy, but everyone has to do it. Everyone has their own struggles and stories and we’re keen on sharing those pieces! We want women to know that they’re not alone. There’s an army out there with them – day in and day out – struggling to keep up and make it all work, too.

Today’s Permission to Hustle Podcast is about TAKING A VACATION. When was the last time you went away and just sort of zoned out? You didn’t do a thing. You pressed pause on your email. You stopped sharing on social. You stopped commenting and liking things on social. You stopped repinning. You stopped shooting videos and taking photos for other people. You just went away and actually WENT AWAY?

I can’t remember the last time I really did this fully. Maybe back in 2016 when we went to Mexico for a week with the kids. I pressed pause ALL week and it felt freaking fantastic! When we’re entrepreneurs we usually don’t take a vacation. Truthfully… how can we? It’s impossible to just stop. You need to keep going and working because clients and people are depending on you. It’s not like you’re working for someone who says to you, “Go away… we’ll catch up when you’re back!” So going away can be stressful, but it’s NEEDED!

I’m sharing today about how going away for 2 days. That’s it! Just 2 simple days with my family really made an impact. How taking the time to just be and not do a thing was the best thing in the world. How when you do something like that you come home recharged and refueled to want to take on the entire world!

Love for you to take a listen and tell me what you think! I really enjoyed doing this (as much as I was stressed about doing this) because it made a real impact on me and my family. I don’t want them to see me running around like a chicken with its head cut off! I hope this podcast helps you realize and discover that you’re not alone. Everyone feels this way and everyone struggles to make things work.
