No Bake Protein Bites

I’m someone who loves to make no bake protein bites for my kids. I’m all about trying to find recipes that are easy and yummy and healthy for them for after school. My kids are involved in so many different activities that I like to make sure they’re eating snacks that are good for them and will keep them fueled. My friend Sheri McShane shared with me an easy recipe that I really think is great for moms and dads to have on hand at all times. If you’re on the hunt for easy recipes, this is one you want to add to your list!

So what about these are good for you? Well – they’re filled with yummy ingredients that will be sure to keep you feeling filled up and energized. When I first read the recipe I was like, “Will I like these?” I was worried that the coconut would be too much for me (I’m not a fun). But you really do get such a wonderful bite with these. I know when my kids get home from school they’re kind of in a daze. It’s been a full day listening and working at school and then usually they’re off to a sport or activity. I like to make sure that wherever they’re heading – they have the energy in them that they need. It’s important to make sure they’re feeling good and that they’re eating snacks that matter. I don’t want them just eating yucky and crappy foods that will make them feel sluggish.

Sheri shared this Protein Bites recipe with me that I think you will love and should (at the very least) try with your kiddos! I never share anything on the blog that I wouldn’t love. I’m all about making sure whatever I share is something that I have an affinity to. I never want anyone to think the opposite. I promise – you will be making them all the time at home! I even look forward to eating them, too!

Ingredients for Protein Bites (as you can see – very easy things to find and add in – you night have a bunch of these at home already):

No Bake Protein Bites

1/2 cup peanut butter (or almond butter)

1/4 cup honey

1 cup rolled oats

¼ cup shredded coconut

1 tbsp chia seeds

2 tbsp sliced almonds

1 tbsp mini chocolate chips (my personal fave)

Make sure you have all of these ingredients on hand for your first go around. You can start playing around with different items after you get the tastes down. I strongly recommend keeping yourself aligned with this recipe first!

Step by Step Directions for the Protein Bites: Are you ready for easy? Because it’s about to get pretty REAL right now! You won’t believe how easy and doable this is for you!

  • Combine all the ingredients into a bowl and mix together. Make sure you have a pretty consistent mixture in the bowl of eveything, too.

  • Roll into 1” balls

  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes. If you want to keep in longer, feel free. I kept in for over an hour because I lost track of time! Don’t worry if you do!

  • Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

Just in case you’re someone (like me) that needs some photos to go along with the directions, I wanted to make sure I attached some photos, too! These are the actual photos in order of steps for you!

And that’s it! That’s how easy it is to create these protein bites. I love that they are bites because you can easily eat one or two or three of them in a sitting! You won’t feel overstuffed, which is key. I know that my sons inhale these (literally!). I usually like to make a bunch and them keep them for throughout the week. The best part is that since it’s such an easy recipe, you can actually just make on the go! This doesn’t require a ton of time, you just need to make sure you have the ingredients needed at home for you to use!

I need to make sure I add in here the props for NO BAKE, too! What I love is that even in the summer heat, you can make these! My sons love to eat baked goods, but I hate to bake in the summer because it makes our house feel like an oven! We don’t have a/c here, so I really try my best to stay away from the oven unless I really need it. Anything NO BAKE in the summer is something I love because I know I can handle it! LOL! It’s not going to make me sweat like a crazy lady!

Check out some additional NO BAKE recipes that I shared on the blog, too! All from my friend Sheri, too! Can you tell she’s also a mom? We like EASY!

Lear about my friend Sheri from the blog When the Kids Go to Bed, too!

Hello All. My name is Sheri. I am a working mother of 3 pretty darn fabulous little boys. I’m trying very hard to handle the stresses of working, being a mother, being a wife, keeping house, and finding the time to just laugh and enjoy life. A few things you should know about me: I’m an iced-coffee addict, I love to organize, and I love my wine. I am also a master at fort-building and being the belly-eating monster. Fitness and healthy eating habits are important to me so you may hear a little about that too. Here you will read about my daily musings and of course my venting, wine glass in hand. Hope you find something you can relate to. Cheers. If you’re a crafty kind of person, come visit me over at The Crafty Collaborative. Here you will find a group of us ladies reviewing and test driving all the fabulous recipes and DIYs we find on Pinterest. We’ll let you know if they’re worth diving into.

I can’t wait to try these. My husband made something similar but as a bar and it was so good. We used different flavors such as cranberries one time, raisens another and they were so good.
