Essentials Every Girl Mom Needs
As a mom of 4 boys, I can say without doubt that I know how to raise a boy inside and out. I’m good with all boy things. I’m not only good with it, I’m good at it! LOL! (OK, you’ll have to ask my 4 sons for confirmation.)
When I had my daughter Victoria it was like a whole new world. I thought I knew girl things, but I didn’t now girl mom things. There’s a distinction there. I didn’t know that you should get certain hair bows because they’re not all the same. I remember a friend telling me, “Make sure you get the ones with the soft back otherwise they’ll hurt her head.” WHAT? Honestly – all the bows I had bought had a plastic back. It was those “little” things I needed to know, needed to learn.
As every mom understands… you just start to roll with it. I was so used to boys that this little girl was a breath of fresh air here. Cars and dinos were replaced with dolls. Bow ties were replaced with hair ties. Cargo pants were replaced with dresses. I still laugh as I write this because Victoria is the perfect definition of a little girl raised with 4 big brothers. She’s the girl outside with a tutu, chasing her brother with a hockey stick. That’s her. That’s her to a T!
As Victoria has gotten older, I’ve relied on the help from other girl moms to give me some inside scoop and some advice on what I need and what I don’t need. It’s funny to think that I overlooked some pretty simple things, but I did. I thought it would be fun to put together a video sharing Essentials Every Girl Mom Needs. I will now be making girl mom baskets filled with these products once my friends’ daughters hit toddler stage!
