L’Oreal Magic Root Cover Up

L’Oreal Magic Root Cover Up for the Gray Hair Win is going to be your new favorite product! I’m going to let you in on a big secret. I’m not a natural blonde! Shocking, right? I’ve actually been coloring my hair and hiding my grays since I was 30 years old, I really went gray quick. It’s in my DNA. L’Oreal Magic Root Cover Up is the best there is and now my new fave beauty product!

My mom went gray very early on, as did my grandfather, too. I decided to go really blonde because the blonde hairs hide the grays better than going darker. My gray root grows in so fast that the blonde actually helps give me a little extra time before I need to go back and get my hair done again. I’m not kidding when I tell you this, but I could probably get my hair colored every 2 weeks! That’s how fast my gray root grows in. I’m not at the stage yet where I love it. I actually still have a hateful relationship with my grays. I think since I’ve been dealing with it for so long that I’m just not at the point where I can say, “I love you grays!” I’m definitely not at the point where I will go natural. I don’t think I’m ever going to be at that point! I love a fresh head of blonde hair in me!

Since I really don’t have the time and flexibility to get my hair done every 2 weeks, I usually just pop on a baseball hat when it gets real bad. I can mask my grays sometimes when I curl my hair, so that always helps. But the root is ALWAYS there just staring back at me. When I was shopping in Target yesterday I saw L’Oreal Magic Root Cover Up on the shelf. I didn’t know anyone who personally used it, but the commercials I’m seen definitely have peaked my interest. Since the grays are really at a stage when I need to get them covered up, I figured – let’s give this a whirl!

L'Oreal Magic Root Cover Up

If you haven’t heard L’Oreal Magic Root Cover Up, it’s literally just temporary color to cover your grays. 3 Seconds to Flawless Roots. Temporary Root Touch Up Spray. Quickly covers gray roots.

Our Magic Root Cover Up conceals grays in seconds for flawless roots. Get seamless coverage with our lightweight formula that leaves no smudging or sticky residue when dry, and that’s ammonia and peroxide free. Perfect for in between color or salon visits. Lasts until your next shampoo.

I loved the fact that it was ammonia and peroxide free. That’s a biggie for me. And as far as the directions go, it seemed very easy.

L’Oreal Magic Root Cover Up – Colors and Directions

Directions: Shake well. Hold can 4-6 inches from hair. Spray color onto new growth and partly through the length of the hair to blend in the color.

Don’t laugh, but my biggest question was – WHAT COLOR SHOULD I GET?? They had a bunch of colors to choose from:
– Dark Blonde
– Light Golden Brown
– Light Brown
– Medium Brown
– Dark Brown
– Red
– Black

I opted to go with the Dark Blonde for the L’Oreal Magic Root Cover Up. I figured I’m a “blonde,” and my root is on the darker side – sprinkled throughout with grays – so it had to be a “safe” color for me. I knew that I could at the very least give the illusion of a dark root with blonde streaks. On-trend and chic looking, right?

So… I gave it a whirl at home with my kids all watching with my 13 year old helping (I begged him).

My takeaways for you – L’Oreal Magic Root Cover Up:
1) The color really does blend in well to your hair. I should’ve gone a lighter shade of blonde, but I don’t think it looked bad on me. You couldn’t tell that it was spray on cover up at all!
2) The color stayed on ALL night! It’s still on this morning! I thought it would fade throughout the night and into the morning, it didn’t.
3) The spray was easy to use and it didn’t make a mess. Usually with sprays you have lots of residue, there wasn’t any.
4) The price was very reasonable. I paid $10.99 for the spray bottle. I could probably get about 15 uses out of it because I won’t use that much at a time.
5) I would definitely recommend using and buying!
6) If you have any questions, L’Oreal has a color specialist available online to chat with you!

I will definitely have to look for this at a store near me, I usually get my hair done every 3 months but there are some times of the year it grows quicker and I can use this until I can get into the salon.
