Dishing with Aja Evans About Beauty Regimens, Training and Motivation
is one of my fave Olympic athletes to watch! She is such an amazing competitor, such an awesome athlete, and she also has an AWESOME Instagram feed
! She’s just cool and composed and driven to be the best and I absolutely LOVE that about her! She’s an exceptional role model! As you know, she’s an American bobsledder who competes as a brakeman… which means, she needs to be a GREAT shape! Bobsledding is a sport that takes grit, guts and drive… she’s got that!!
I was BEYOND excited when I found out that I would be able to interview her through P&G’s Thank you, Mom campaign! I’ve been following her since the 2014 Olympics (she won a bronze medal at Sochi!). I can’t thank P&G enough for the amazing access to these amazing athletes! Not to mention… Aja has an awesome and gorgeous partnership with OLAY!!
1. You come from a family of athletes, how proud are they of you to be back competing at the Olympics?
My family is so proud and encouraging. Me being here gives them a feeling of competing and reliving their own moments again. I find this really funny because everyone is such an amazing athlete and have all competed at their own elite levels – But seeing them so excited for me really gets me going!
2. What kind of training do you do as a brakeman? You are in such amazing shape!
Thanks! We do a lot of off-the-ice training. I’m in the gym all the time mostly doing sprints and explosive movements like seated box jumps where I start at a static position, fire my muscles and land on a really high box. That’s what I do when I’m pushing the sled so I have to have that pop and explosiveness.
3. Love to hear about your beauty regimen as you’re competing and traveling around the world. What goes into it? Do you have a pretty set routine?
When I’m competing I have a pretty set skin care routine because I go through so many different stressors during competition. I need to make sure I’m cleansing and moisturizing my skin properly so I use Olay Cleansing Infusions Body Wash which keeps my skin hydrated and glowing. I also need my eyes to pop when I compete. If the concealer under my eyes isn’t good, none of my makeup will look good!
4. Your Olay partnership is amazing! Why were you so happy to be partnered up with such an incredible brand?
I really believe in the power of skin care and they have such amazing products that cater to keeping skin hydrated and healthy, which is so important to me because I deal with such harsh conditions. I’ve really been able to #GlowUp my skin care routine thanks to their amazing products.
5. What are you MOST looking forward to as competing at the Games?
I’m looking forward to being at my second Olympic Games. Having that experience under my belt is a different feeling – I was a bit of a deer in in the headlights last time around, but now as a veteran I definitely feel more grounded and want to enjoy my experience.
THANK YOU AJA!!!!
