Personal Diary: SculpSure Body Contouring – Treatment #2

My journey was SculpSure continues!

First off, I want to thank so much for the emails and the texts and the comments about SculpSure, it’s been wonderful being able to share my experience with you and I love seeing so many people excited about it, too.

I went for my 2nd treatment last week, which will be my final treatment. If you’re just joining me on this journey, let me give you a little background as to what I’m doing and why.

After 5 kids, my body – as much as I workout and eat healthy (which I do regularly!) – just isn’t the same. As much as I run, power walk, bike or swim… there are areas on my body that just won’t smooth out. I’m ALL about being physical, so for me personally, it frustrates me that I haven’t been able to target areas of my body as easily as I once could. I’m 38 years old, so I know I’m not (ahem) “old,” but I also know I’m not a spring chicken either! I’ve gotten to the point in my life that if there are easy and convenient procedures that I can do to help me feel more confident in my own skin, I want to explore them. I’d love to tuck shirts/tees and blouses INTO my jeans again. I’d love to wear form-fitting tops and dresses without a layer of SPANX pushing down my love handles, otherwise known as those pesky flanks!

What is SculpSure all about?

SculpSure is a breakthrough in light-based body contouring designed to reduce stubborn fat in problem areas such as the abdomen and love handles, helping you achieve a slimmer and natural looking appearance without surgery or downtime.

Here was the BIG thing for me and my busy lifestyle… NO SURGERY and NO DOWNTIME. As a full-time working mom of 5, I knew that I couldn’t do anything electively right now that would keep me “down and out” for 6-8 weeks. I was immediately attracted to the ease and convenience of SculpSure, almost like it was created for people with busy lifestyles. Not to mention, SculpSure targets and destroys fat cells without affecting (at all) your skin’s surface.

So what does SculpSure exactly do (this was my first question)?

Even with diet and exercise, most people have stubborn pockets of fat that seem impossible to lose. SculpSure’s body contouring technology is able to target and destroy these fat cells in just 25 minutes without affecting the skin’s surface. Over time, these damaged fat cells are naturally absorbed and removed from the body, with results seen as quickly as six weeks, and optimal results typically seen at 12 weeks. There is no recovery time following treatment, so you can resume your daily activities immediately.

Dr. Quibell in Boston, MA has been treating me throughout my journey. My 1st treatment went off without a hitch (will link to it here). I remember after I left my 1st treatment I was worried that I would experience 3 things post-appointment:

  1. Pain
  2. Discomfort doing exercise
  3. My flank region would look lumpy

I experienced none of the above! I couldn’t believe that I was actually able to workout that very 1st night! I actually remember thinking, “I hope this was done correctly” because it was that easy. I mentioned in my last blog post that I only was a candidate for my flank region because Dr. Quibell discovered that I have a hernia in my abdomen region. As a matter of fact, this is something that you should definitely look into (if you think you could have one) before you get a treatment. I was shocked to hear I had one and it could’ve been VERY dangerous for me if I went ahead with my treatment without it being discovered. I love Dr. Quibell because she not only brings a sense of ease to the process, she’s also an internist and brings a highly sought level of experience and training as a stand out provider in the cosmetic medicine industry for artfully delivering the aesthetic results you wish to achieve.

Why 2 treatments?

If you’re investing in SculpSure, you want to be happy at the end of the procedure, so make sure you’re giving yourself the best opportunity to feel that way. Everyone is different, so you should consult with your physician about a personalized treatment plan that will give you the results you want. For me, this was 2 treatments to my flanks, but it all depends on what you’re treating and what you would like to accomplish from it.

My 2nd treatment was as uneventful as my 1st… which is a good thing! I sat there for 25 minutes chatting with Alex (the technician) and perusing Facebook and Instagram on my phone. The way SculpSure works is that the laser goes through cycles… you feel warmth and then a cool sensation. It literally cycles through these different levels of temperature. For me, it never got too hot where I needed to have them stop or turn it down. You definitely feel heat, but it’s not overwhelming.. There’s a technician or doctor with you the entire time, so whenever you have a question, there’s someone there.

One thing that REALLY excited me was that Dr. Quibell’s office took photos of me, too when I went in October and you could ALREADY tell that there was a difference!! I was thrilled to see it!! I can feel it in my pants, but in all honesty… I didn’t know if I was just talking myself into it! To actually see the improvement with my own 2 eyes, it was very encouraging!

I’m thrilled to be sharing this journey with you! As always, I’m open to ANY questions you have throughout the process. I’ve loved answering all your questions so far!

I love that there are options like this, the no surgery part is what I am excited about. Cause who wants to go through the surgery and recovery time. This sounds like a much better plan.
