Word of Mouse by James Patterson #GIVEAWAY #WordofMouse

sponsored by JIMMY Patterson Books.

My oldest son William LOVES to read. Every time he has a free moment, his nose is in a book. As his mother, I love seeing this and it warms my heart. I was always a reader when I was his age, so I love seeing history repeat itself.

I’m always on the hunt for fabulous books to bring into my home for my 4 sons. Since William is my oldest, he’ll usually read it first and then pass along to the brothers! I love seeing them all get excited about books!

I found a gem of a book that I’m excited to share with you guys, Word of Mouse by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein.

It’s a Juvenile Fiction book for ages 8 -12 and it’s AWESOME!! I’m a HUGE James Patterson fan on my own, so I love that he writes for kids, too! This newest illustrated middle grade story follows the illuminating journey of a very special mouse, and the unexpected friendships that he makes along the way. The perfect kind of book for middle school kids.

What’s Word of Mouse about?

What makes Isaiah so unique? First, his fur is as blue as the sky—which until recently was something he’d never seen, but had read all about. That’s right—Isaiah can read, and write. He can also talk to humans…if any of them are willing to listen! After a dramatic escape from a mysterious laboratory, Isaiah is separated from his “mischief” (which is the word for a mouse family), and has to use his special skills to survive in the dangerous outdoors, and hopefully find his missing family. But in a world of cruel cats, hungry owls, and terrified people, it’s hard for a young, lone mouse to make it alone. When he meets an equally unusual and lonely human girl named Hailey, the two soon learn that true friendship can transcend all barriers.

What I love about Word of Mouse is that at the beginning of each chapter are some “words to live by” … and they are really cute, sweet and adorable. One of my faves is Chapter 8 – “No matter the temperature, home is always colder when there’s no family to share it with.” With 5 kids in our family, it’s NEVER cold here! I sat with the kids to come up with our own “words to live by!”

We created a word bubble with “words to live by” that I adore! It’s something I always say to my son William because it means so much to me…

Oh wow. I did not know James Patterson wrote books for young readers. That’s awesome. I too, am a big James Patterson fan. I love his books with Cross as the main character. I’m thinking of getting a copy of Word of Mouse for my niece. She loves reading too.
