Sometimes you Just Need Breakfast with your Dad

Yesterday was an ultra crazy work day.

My morning kicked off with co-hosting The Rhode Show. I have to admit, I PERSONALLY love co-hosting. It’s fun. It’s live. It’s everything I love to do! It doesn’t come without pressure, though. I’m used to being my own content driver. I’m not used to scripts and set content. So it’s always cool to have a different kind of job for the day!

You know one of those days when you have a to do list a PAGE long?

Yeah.

Yesterday was one of those kinds of days. I felt a little overwhelmed, a little stressed and a little holiday crazed.

As I was leaving The Rhode Show set, I got a text from my father, “I’m around the corner… do you have time for breakfast?”

In all actuality, I didn’t. I had a ton of stuff to do for work that NEEDED to get done.

But.

And this is a BIG BUT.

When your Dad texts you and asks if you have time to grab a quick bite to eat. You drop everything and head to your favorite spot. My dad is one of my best friend’s, he’s my everything. He’s my mentor and confidante. I know I’m very blessed to have a Dad that I LOVE to be with (and hopefully vice versa!) and enjoy chatting/laughing/dishing with, too!

But here’s the thing.

When I left breakfast I felt more at peace. I felt less stressed, less overwhelmed. My Dad has such an awesome way of making everything OK. He’s wise. He’s smart. He’s just a great Dad.

So yes, I urge you.

If you have the chance to do breakfast with your Dad… go for it.

The work?

It can always get done.

I love this. I would give anything to have breakfast again with my Dad, who passed away last year.
