It’s December! The holidays are officially upon us and it’s time to plan, prepare and get ready for them! I’m someone who LOVES the holidays, so for me… this is my favorite time of year! I love the holiday music. I love the holiday cheer. I love the decorations. I love the excitement for my kids. And I just love the holiday magic in the air!
Last year during the holiday season, I headed to Foxwoods Resort Casino with a group of girlfriends for some fun, shopping and just good ole’ girl time! It was wonderful because the holidays should be about spending it with the ones you adore. And yes… I know, when you think Foxwoods Resort Casino you immediately think about their incredible casino – and you’re right. It’s the largest resort casino in North America with 340,000 square feet of world class gaming space, including 4,800 slots and 256 table games; 95 poker tables; high stakes Bingo; Keno, and the Ultimate Race Book. I’m actually not a big gambling girl (I get to nervous!), but my husband loves it and we’ve spent many nights at Foxwoods throughout the years. I’m only about 45 minutes from Foxwoods so it’s an easy, convenient and fun destination to head to for a night or even a weekend away!
But here’s the best thing about Foxwoods Resort Casino… there’s so much more to do than just hitting the casino floors. Their 9 million square foot resort complex is comprised of six distinctive casinos, four hotels with over 2,230 guest rooms and suites, 30 plus dining experiences, two luxurious spas, a number of exclusive retail boutiques, two theaters, six nightclubs, a luxury bowling alley and two award- winning golf courses. For me, it’s all about the SHOPPING. So… when Foxwoods asked me host a 2nd Merry Mingle, I jumped at the chance to head there for a girls trip!! I had such an incredible time last year! We shopped, we ice skated and we just enjoyed the extra luxuries at Foxwoods!! It was a wonderful chance to “getaway” for a few hours and have some holiday fun with ladies who make me happy!
So what’s on the agenda this year?

I’ve enjoyed shopping at Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods throughout the last year, it’s an incredible space and offers so many amazing deals! Shopping with the ladies will be a blast to kick off our Merry Mingle!
And then we’re off to do some SKATING!! Foxwoods has a beautiful outdoor skating rink that is just breathtaking! Last year we had so much fun skating! There was so much laughter, you could probably hear us in the casino! You can skate seven days a week on the outdoor rink located behind the Fox Tower – it really is a perfect winter family outing. The trees surrounding the rink are decorated with over 100,000 lights. After your skate, enjoy a hot chocolate while relaxing in an Adirondack chair set by one of four outdoor fireplaces that surround a fully decorated 30 foot Christmas tree! Talk about feeling inside a holiday movie, it’s just a stunning view!

The Winter Rink opens for the season on November 27, with a grand opening celebration taking place on December 5.

And!! We’re going to TRY to see Santa while we’re there!! The jolly, big guy is an icon… so if we can grab a photo opp, that would be awesome!! You can come get your photo taken with Santa while checking out his workshop and home at Foxwoods! Santa will be setting “up shop” at the Fox Theater near the Tree.

That really does look quite beautiful! I love the Christmas decorations, because you can tell that they put a lot of effort into it, and the fact that there is so much to do (other than the casino) makes it sound like the perfect get away!
