Personal Diary: SculpSure Body Contouring

As a 38-year old married mother of 5… I definitely (DEFINITELY) have noticed in the last 3-4 years changes in my body that working out and eating healthy don’t always smooth out, or better yet, target easily. Since my lifestyle is busy, I know that I’m here, there and everywhere… but I’m still good at fitting in a 30 minute run/bike/walk 4-5 times a week.

Here’s the thing, though — my jeans/pants/skirts… they’re fitting differently than they ever have before and it’s something that I’ve become conscious about, especially since I’m obsessed with fashion trends/styles and (most important), I blog about fashion, too. I know how to dress my body perfectly. I know the areas that I like to avoid. I know the areas that I like to accentuate. I know exactly what kind of top and cut will drape my body to make it look exactly the way I want it to. This knowledge has come from years of working in the fashion industry and knowing my body and styles.

But, I’ve come to a certain point in my life when I am ready to do something about the certain stubborn areas on my body that I would like a little more contoured. The two areas on my body that I’m most self-conscious about are my stomach and my flanks. These two areas make it difficult for me to be comfortable wearing clothes that are tucked in, any kind of low-rise jeans or pants… or anything form fitting to my body (dresses/sweaters) without Spanx.

Feeling confident and feeling beautiful go hand-and-hand for me. I know the work I put into my body, so I’m happy with those results. It’s just these certain areas on my body that have changed after having 5 babies. I’m only 5 feet tall, so the back-to-back pregnancies of my 4 sons (all born within 3 years, 9 months), as well as Victoria’s just 3 years ago… well, it did a number on my body. Certain areas just won’t ever be the same that they were pre-babies, and I know that, but since there are ways to help bring me back to what I’d like to be, I’m thankful and appreciative to try them out! I want to feel confident in my own skin, and I think it’s important for women to know that – regardless of what other people think – everyone wants to feel the best they can be.

Which leads me to something I’ve been ECSTATIC to share with you all, my partnership with SculpSure. I’ve been looking into body contouring treatments for a couple of years now, but none of them really caught my attention until I heard about SculpSure.

What is SculpSure?

SculpSure is a breakthrough in light-based body contouring designed to reduce stubborn fat in problem areas such as the abdomen and love handles, helping you achieve a slimmer and natural looking appearance without surgery or downtime.

Even with diet and exercise, most people have stubborn pockets of fat that seem impossible to lose. SculpSure’s body contouring technology is able to target and destroy these fat cells in just 25 minutes without affecting the skin’s surface. Over time, these damaged fat cells are naturally absorbed and removed from the body, with results seen as quickly as six weeks, and optimal results typically seen at 12 weeks. There is no recovery time following treatment, so you can resume your daily activities immediately.

What jumped out to me immediately is:

  • There is no surgery
  • There is no downtime
  • It’s done in just 25 minutes

With my lifestyle, I knew I couldn’t be “down” for any amount of time. My 5 kids and my husband depend on me to keep everything moving (sound familiar, moms!?). I was so intrigued by the ability of SculpSure to target and destroy fat cells without affecting the skin’s surface. I felt it was exactly what I’ve been looking for to take care of my targeted areas – stomach and flanks. I wanted to achieve that slimmer and natural looking silhouette.

Dr. Quibell in Boston, MA will be my guiding light throughout this process. She’s an internist and brings a highly sought level of experience and training as a stand out provider in the cosmetic medicine industry for artfully delivering the aesthetic results you wish to achieve.  She was beyond kind and patient and thorough as she examined my body to give me the best advice for SculpSure treatment. I explained to her what I’m self-conscious about and showed her my target areas. What I loved about Dr. Quibell was her honest advice. She isolated my flank region as the best region for her to do the treatment because my abdomen area has a hernia due to my 5 pregnancies. Thank goodness Dr. Quibell discovered this because I didn’t know this was present in my body. This is a perfect example as to why it’s important to make sure you’re going to a doctor who knows what they’re doing. I’m beyond excited for the results in my flank region, it’s something that I literally am giddy about seeing the results in 12 weeks!

I’m excited to be sharing my journey with you over the next 12 weeks. It will start with the initial treatment, through the 2nd one (recommended for optimal results) and then the final results.

I also am open to ANY questions you have throughout the process. I’m an open book when it comes to sharing, so please feel free to ask away!

I have heard of procedures like this and always wondered if they really worked. I’ll be curius to hear how you like it, and would love to know if it generally lasts.

I love that there’s no surgery, and that there is no need for a recovery time. It’s pretty interesting that you can just continue with your daily life after doing this procedure.

That sounds like what every mama needs. I was able to feel like myself again pretty quickly after the first two, but after baby #3 it’s been almost impossible.

That’s really cool! I’ve heard a lot about this over the last few months, but I’ve never really seen exactly how it works. I could absolutely use this. I’ll have to look into it.
