Build Your Own Balloonicle with the Aflac Duck to Help Fight Childhood Cancer

As a mom of 5, hearing stories about families going through childhood cancer is something that really is tough for me to hear and to process. It just breaks my heart to see a family go through anything this difficult with their child. I know I’m only one person, but it’s important for to me to do what I can to help. Especially during this time of year, whether it’s delivering toys to a local hospital for the kids, raising money through a local road race to fight childhood cancer or donating time/money/food to a family who could use the assistance during the holidays, I’m there to help. It’s something that I just need and I want to do and also like involving my own family in too.

It’s also incredible to see companies and brands doing impactful and meaningful things to help fight childhood cancer, too. To me, it really puts a caring “face” to the company. Aflac has passionately supported the fight against childhood cancer for more than 20 years. They have continuously played a gigantic role in helping to fight the fight, and I’ve always appreciated that and loved that about Aflac. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and it is the Aflac Duck’s sixth year as a part of the festivities.

This holiday season, they want you to help and be part of the fight with them, too.

How can you help out?

Aflac is calling on individuals across America to get involved this holiday season through its #Duckprints campaign. We all know that adorable, iconic Aflac Duck! To help boost donations and awareness during the holiday season, Aflac has developed a new online game, “Build Your Own Balloonicle.” It is the coolest and cutest game to play!! The Aflac balloonicle features the Duck skating into town, complete with a blue hat and scarf.

A balloonicle is a combination balloon and self-propelled vehicle, so there are no strings tying the duck down. The Aflac balloonicle is one of only three balloonicles in this year’s parade. With this game, you actually go online and create your very own Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloonicle, featuring the beloved Aflac Duck. I had some fun this afternoon creating my own balloonicle! My 3 year old daughter helped me decide what I was going to dress my Aflac Duck up in and we created a cute holiday style!

The best part is that every game experience shared on social media with #Duckprints will generate a $2 donation toward children’s cancer research and treatment (up to $1.5 million).

That’s right, simply by playing this fun “Build Your Own Balloonicle” game, you can help make a difference.

Pretty wonderful, right?

Take a moment to be part of the goal to help increase both donations and awareness, but mostly with the ultimate mission of eradicating childhood cancer. Help leave YOUR footprint (or #Duckprint) in the fight against childhood cancer!

This year, Aflac also introduced Duckchat, an Aflac app where consumers can get custom Aflac Duck emojis and GIFs. The app can be downloaded on either the Apple iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store. Aflac will also donate $2 (up to $1.5 million) with each download of Duckchat.

Make sure you tune in to the 90th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, beginning at 9 a.m. in all time zones on NBC on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016!!

Aflac herein means American Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus and American Family Life Assurance Company of New York.
