Teal Pumpkin Project

This Halloween we’re going teal with our pumpkins, not just orange.

If you haven’t heard about the Teal Pumpkin Project, I’m happy to sure the news with you because this is something that I’m sure will be near and dear to many families this Halloween.

The Teal Pumpkin Project encourages people to remember the many trick-or-treaters suffer from food allergies and this time of year can be challenging for them, especially when they’re out with their friends on Halloween. The Teal Pumpkin Project is wonderful: anyone participating just places a teal pumpkin in front of their house, letting trick-or-treaters know that it’s a non food home. Since teal is the color of food allergy awareness, teal pumpkins have become a wonderful marker to raise awareness.img_4611

I’m excited to share that I’ve teamed up with Moose Toys, the company behind the collectible craze Shopkins, this Halloween to make it less scary for kids with food allergies and provide them with fun non-food treats! My daughter Victoria is OBSESSED with Shopkins, so this is fun for her to be part of with them, too!!! Moose Toys sent along a variety of kids’ favorite collectibles, including Shopkins, Grossery Gang and Twozies, to hand out this Halloween and help spread awareness about the Teal Pumpkin Project.

I personally love this because we’re trick-or-treathing this year with a close family friend who suffers from a nut allergy.

Take the time this holiday to think of non-food treats, too! Stickers or small toys or anything that might be fun for trick-or-treaters that suffer from allergies!

I LOVE this idea!

Disclosure: Moose Toys provided the samples for me.
