There something about October.

Just like the Anne of Green Gables quotes, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”

I really am glad.

October is like that Fall warm hug. It’s finally getting a little chilly, but not chilly enough where coats are required. Hats and scarves are optional, as well as boots. Sweaters have come out of hibernation. It’s just that perfect time of year, especially living in New England.

This weekend we went to our favorite spot to visit in the Fall – The Farmer’s Daughter.

It’s an incredibly cute farm in Rhode Island that has just about everything for Fall – pumpkins, corn maze, pumpkin painting, hayrides, animals, gorgeous mums and just a spread of loveliness everywhere. This place always makes me happy when we visit. It’s that perfect – why don’t I own a farm – type place.

I just can’t get enough! It’s funny, every year we go, I always say to my husband, “We need to do this every weekend throughout the Fall!” And just as life happens – we don’t. There’s swim meets. There’s CCD. There are family events. There’s work. There’s everything that makes up a life that can be all thrown into a busy weekend. So… being there this past Saturday morning, let’s just say we embraced every single second. It was just awesome to be there with the kids, just watching them enjoy!

The best was watching Victoria being SUPER GIRL. She was a big help with the pumpkins. Every time we added one, I kept saying… “She’s going to need help!” And – as it happens with Victoria, she kept refusing it and wanted to do it herself! It was hilarious!
