I’ve been away for the last 2 days and when I’m away, everything falls on my husband. Keeping up with 5 kids isn’t easy and that’s with 2 of us there! When one of us is away, it can be (in a word) mayhem! But – we get it done as best as we can.
This week my husband stepped it up big time. On top of the usual craziness of our lives and schedules – CCD, Swim Team, Preschool, After-School Activities, etc… there was Breast Cancer Awareness Day for the kids. This is something I always love them to participate in because it’s a wonderful way for them to get involved and do something proactive. My cousin passed away from breast cancer, so it’s important for me to make sure they know the importance of raising awareness.
Pink Out Day was all on Matty.
And you know what, he rose to the occasion!

I know that this is something that needed to get done. I know that this is something that the kids were happy to be part of at school. But I love how he went above and beyond and really made sure they stood out.
Sometimes it’s the littlest things that make you look at your spouse and say to yourself, “I really hit the jackpot.”
