Stay at Avenue Suites Georgetown while visiting Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is one of my favorite places to visit. It’s a city full of history, delicious food, incredible attractions and lovely people. Throughout the years we’ve made sure to make as many McClelland family trips as possible to D.C. It’s such a fun place to learn, explore and navigate around!! Every time I’m there, I always fall in love with the City over and over again! We’ve never had a visit where we didn’t have an unbelievable time.

I had the chance to head to D.C. early last week for an amazing White House event hosted by Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama is very passionate about her Let’s Move! campaign, and it was a wonderful opportunity to head there and hear what Let’s Move has done, is doing and will continue to do throughout the years. I’m extremely passionate about keeping my kids healthy and active, so this event for me was an awesome experience. It’s pretty incredible to hear what’s been accomplished already with Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign! Very inspiring!

While in D.C. for the event, my bestie – Vera Sweeney and I stayed at the magnificent Avenue Suites Georgetown on Pennsylvania Avenue. If you know this hotel, you know it’s breathtaking. If you don’t know this hotel, I’m beyond excited to share my experience with you.

Avenue Suites Georgetown is a seamless blend of style and authenticity, from the second you walk through the door and enter the lobby, you feel the Avenue Suites experience. It’s chic. It’s stylish. It’s comfortable. It’s trendy. Vera and I enjoyed a cocktail and some delicious food at their A Bar + Kitchen (mac & cheese and cheesecake!). Just chilling in the lobby and enjoying the view and the amazing photos (hello, George Clooney!) was so relaxing. When you’re staying at a hotel, you truly want to embrace the experience and relax… it was SO EASY to do here!

But the best part for me?

Hands down, the suites.

They were exceptional.

Relax in a warm, contemporary atmosphere and discover a personalized experience that speaks to each traveler’s distinct lifestyle. Our spacious suites feature a separate living room, fully equipped kitchen, and contemporary lifestyle amenities that appeal to both leisure and business travelers.

I mean, we’re talking… amazingly comfortable beds, gorgeous kitchen, spacious living/dining room area and wonderful bathroom space. It was like walking into your own personal apartment.

When I arrived in D.C. to meet Vera, I was coming off of 3 nights in a row of difficult sleep because my Victoria wasn’t feeling that well. I was desperate for a night’s sleep. The second I saw this bed before I dropped into it, I knew it was going to be a fabulous sleep.

I slept like a baby. It was truly the best sleep ever! I didn’t want to wake up – and I was heading to the White House and I still didn’t want to wake up!! LOL!! 🙂

The suites are just exquisite. To add to the fabulousness, the Suite Amenities & Hotel Services are incredible, too!

Also, something I love – the Stock The Fridge Program:
We happily “Stock the Fridge.” Choose some items from our local Trader Joe’s (right across the street!) and we will deliver them straight to the kitchen prior to your arrival!

Avenue Suites Georgetown – A Pet Friendly Hotel
We welcome pets with a Modus dog bowl amenity and seasonally-themed treats, as well as park information and recommended walk routes. Toys and pet waste bags are also available at the front desk. A non-refundable $25 fee applies per night for pets.

One thing that I want to note here, too. Vera and I had a chance to chat with one of the manager’s Sophie who was absolutely lovely! She was so informative, gracious and super sweet! She let us know that during the summer, the hotel caters to many family guests. With a family of 7, I love that this is the PERFECT option for us. When we head to D.C., we usually stay outside of the city limits because we need to make sure we find a hotel that is big enough for us and truly caters towards families. I love knowing that this is an option in the summer. It’s perfect, too because it’s within walking distance to the National Mall, and just a short walk from the unique historic charm of Georgetown.

You’ve got it all here, truly.

I highly recommend Avenue Suites Georgetown. Make sure you check their events calendar for everything going on!
