Day 23 ~ 31 Haiku in Search of a Voice ~

Naked dancing trees
Caught in a game of freeze tag
By sternest elder.

While riding my bike through my local park yesterday afternoon, I took a less traveled path and came upon a little grove of trees. The smaller of the trees looked like they were having so much fun on this glorious day, dancing with abandon, naked, not a leaf to be seen. They appeared to be playing freeze tag, their bodies all silently twisted with laughter. There were a couple of more modest trees in the distance, enjoying the show, but then my eyes rested on a tall, stern, no-nonsense tree, obviously an elder and not pleased at all. His branches were all stretched out and upward in harsh disbelief at this raucous behavior. I didn’t see anything wrong with these naked, dancing trees with their stifled giggles. I saw a Haiku in Search of a Voice!
