When I was a child, I always knew spring was here when my father would get all of our bikes tuned up and ready! Biking was a family activity we loved doing together. I grew up next to a 20+ mile long bike path in Rhode Island, so I was always off riding with my sister, parents and brothers. It was so much fun to pack a lunch and just ride. I can’t even begin to tell you how many wonderful family memories I have from that time in my life. Biking was always so freeing and so much fun, not to mention – a healthy activity, too!

Fast forward 25+ years! I’m a mom of 5 and one thing my kids get super excited about are bike rides! My kids are on the young side – 11, 10, 9, 7 and 2 – so we can’t go on super long adventures yet, but they LOVE riding up and down the street and through our neighborhood. It’s been a VERY long winter for us here in New England. We haven’t gotten too much snow (thank goodness!), but just enough to keep us indoors and completely bundled. Now that it’s SPRING, I love being able to get outside with my family and enjoy outdoor activities. Biking is one of the best to do! I love getting all my kids on their bikes and watching them go up and down. They even take chalk and draw lanes so that nobody will cross over into someone’s path!

Schwinn is a bike brand that I know and love well. My very first bike was a Schwinn. I’ll never forget it, it was gray, red, white and blue. I called my mother to try and find a photo of it for this blog post, but she couldn’t find one. I know I have one somewhere, so I’ll have to keep looking. That Schwinn bike was amazing and was my mode of transportation everywhere! I would ride to school, the center of our town, to the grocery store and to houses of my girlfriends. I was always on my bike as soon as the weather was warm enough, so I love seeing my sons (and daughter!) get the same love from their Schwinn bikes. Victoria’s bike is the Schwinn Roadster Tricycle. This is PERFECT for little ones that are just getting on a bike for the very first time. She actually rides this in the house, too! As you can see from above, she doesn’t have any speed, but she’s beginning to get herself moving and understands the process. I love that it’s a safe option for her. It’s easy for her to move around in our driveway and right out front. I think if you have a 1.5-3 year old, this is the BEST option for you!

William’s bike is the Schwinn 24″ Atlas bike. He absolutely LOVES it! We received these bikes a couple of months ago and I really wanted to see how William adapted to it and how much he liked it. I’m telling you right now, this is a PERFECT bike for a kid/teen. I love how strong the Atlas is, but also lightweight. There’s something comforting knowing that the bike isn’t too heavy for your child. Also, it’s set up to be 100% comfortable and give a smooth ride. William rides his bike to his buddies houses around our neighborhood. I always feel good with him out and about, never worry because he’s on a great bike!
