Potty Training Girls

It’s Potty Training time in the McClelland household for Victoria. We’ve never done any Potty Training Girls before. This is all new territory for us! She’s 2 1/2 and it’s time to start the conversation and get our little lady ready to be a big girl! I’ve never potty trained a girl before, so this is all new territory for me. I’ve heard girls are easier than boys… so I’m hoping this is to be true. Potty Training Girls – it should be interesting to see what’s easier for us.

Potty Training Girls

Santa brought Victoria a new potty for Christmas because (ahem) he knew that Potty Training Girls was coming soon enough. Apparently it’s a top of the line “potty” from Summer Infant Potty and it’s FABULOUS. Honest to God… I wish we had gotten the boys one that looked like this all those years ago when we were potty training them!

3 Pieces of Advice:

  1. Get a potty that you will love and use all the time with your little one!

My Size Potty features the look and feel of an adult toilet to help ensure a comfortable and confident transition to the real thing. The toilet handle features a flushing sound to reward and encourage your little one, and a built-in wipe dispenser promotes good hygiene habits. This easy to clean potty includes a removable bowl and clip-on splash guard for boys.

2. Be easy on yourself. I’ve learned this from the beginning. You can’t make magic happen in a day. It will take a little while to get things moving and that’s OK!

3. Rewarding seems to work like a charm! I hate to say it, but it does! Not to mention – it’s easier to watch her just sit and watch TV! LOL! The boys were all over the place

It looks so real, right!? I love it.

Well… we put it together today to start enticing her to use it. She grabbed it. Moved it in front of the TV and used it like it was a la-z-boy chair all afternoon. Essentially right now it’s just being used as a chair. A really cute chair that looks like a toilet!

Baby steps, right? LOL… little tiny baby steps.

I’ll check back in next week!

    That’s such a cute potty!

I wish I knew it existed when I was potty training my youngest – it probably would have made a big difference. Great invention 🙂
