31 Days of Gratefulness: Day 1

Grateful Quote

Last night I was sitting on my couch watching my sons interact with each other. Brothers. They love hard. They fight hard. At the end of the day, they’re always on the same team. As I was watching William and Alex talk about something and start laughing… out of the corner of my eye I saw my son Benjamin with his eyes locked on his 2 older brothers. Ben had a smile from ear to ear watching William and Alex laughing about something… and it made me smile. My sons are getting older, but seeing them laugh and enjoy each other – it’s a blessing. I’m grateful.

I woke up this morning with the idea to share one thing every single day throughout the month of December and “end cap” of 2015 that I’m grateful for in my life. I have many blessings in my life and I cherish every single one of them. I’m grateful for many things and have always tried (as best as possible) to see the glass 1/2 full. I remember when I first moved to NYC back in 2001, I was scared and homesick and just terrified. My mother bought me the book – Simple Abundance that was a HUGE hit on Oprah at that time… it changed everything for me. Every day while taking the subway to work, I would read the entry for that day and smile. I realized quickly that life was all about the simple things and being truly grateful for what you have… not always just what you want.

I’m putting my gratefulness down on paper (well… laptop paper!) throughout the month.

I’m grateful today for my 4 sons.

Grateful Month

My handsome, silly, funny, smart, thoughtful, kind and incredible sons. They are my everything. When I found out I was having a 4th little boy back in 2008, so many people said to me, “Oh… I bet you wanted a girl, huh!?” It wasn’t true. Well, let me say that differently – I didn’t care what I got, I just wanted a healthy baby… but knowing that I was going to have 4 sons all grow up together, close in age as a pack. It warmed my heart.

Being 7 years out from having my Henry, I love seeing this pack of 4 boys, this pack of brothers be so close. They are my heart and my soul and I am grateful to be their mom every single day of my life. I was so nervous having boys because I’m such a girly girl, but I fell into the love of football, baseball, dirt & mud, dinosaurs, cars, wrestling, farts and burps and everything boy very quickly!

What are you grateful for?

Share with me something every day throughout the month of December!!

Though quite a while working online but actually should say trying to figure it all out , looking into opportunities and buisness and decided I want to start booting my blog but that wasn’t the question so okay what am I grateful for today?
I am especially thankful for my family especially my mother who raised five children on her own and that wasn’t always easy on her! Now she has reached her 81 years old her fysical health isn’t what it was but her mental health is fantastic and I feel very proud of her for all she has done for us! As the saying goes a mother can raise 10 childeren but 10 children can’t raise a mother!
