Tearful Surprise from Pampers #BetterforBaby

I have loved being part of the Pampers Blogger Board for the last 5+ years. It’s something I’m proud of because it’s a brand that love, trust and have used for my family (almost daily) for the last 11 years. They are and have been part of the fabric of my motherhood journey… that’s something very special to me.

As a member of Pampers Blogger Board, we get many cool and amazing opportunities. The one thing I’ve always loved about the Pampers brand is that they are HUGE on giving back to the community. Pampers understands and knows that we’re all in this parenthood adventure together, and the best way to help each other out… is to, well… help each out and be there for each other.

Pampers started a beautiful campaign called #BetterForBaby this summer. The idea for this program came from research the Pampers team conducted over the past year. The team spent a lot of time with moms across the U.S. – talking with them in their homes – and one consistent theme from these conversations was the powerful impact their babies have as positive change agents in their lives. Pampers was completely inspired by the idea that even though babies are small, they are powerful agents of change. That’s what the Pampers #BetterForBaby film is all about: the profound impact babies have on our lives.

(You’re going to need a tissue.)

Pampers believes it’s a universal truth that when a baby comes into your life, you want to be a better person for that baby. Babies bring out the best in each of us. They make our lives better. And that’s why there’s nothing we wouldn’t do to make life better for babies. Each verse in Pampers’ new film, a lullaby set to “Hush Little Baby,” is a pledge to do something better for baby.

With #BetterForBaby as the foundation, Pampers reached out to their Pampers Blogger Board members are granted some of us with a $2500 grant to do something #BetterForBaby. We could do anything with the grant from Pampers, as long as it would have a positive impact on someone or something in our community.

Inspired by my fellow board member Tiffany Snedaker, I wanted to do something special for people I didn’t know. As a mom of 5, I know how much the essentials for baby can cost – diapers, wipes, bottles, food, baby wash, etc – it adds up quickly! Since I love 4 miles from a Babies R Us, I thought it would be fun to head their and just happen to catch families purchasing their essentials and pay for their bill – but not before asking them to get 5x the amount that they were going to get!! It was – for me – a night I will never, ever, ever forget.

I can’t quite explain properly what it felt like to gift these 5 families everything they needed and then some from Pampers! What I loved most about it was that I showed up at 6PM, so all of these families were just coming from work with their babies and just meaning to pop in and buy what they needed and head right home. The look of shock, disbelief, surprise and appreciation from every family was priceless. Nobody was there expecting anything. Nobody was there asking for anything. Nobody was there looking to get anything. For me, that was the most beautiful part of all… it was for them, just an ordinary night that was made extraordinary from Pampers.

Pampers… thank you for allowing me to make some magic happen for 5 families on October 29th!

Pampers #BetterForBaby

I feel like I made friends with 5 families that night. Everyone was so amazing and sweet and just so appreciative. There were lots and lots of tears and the best part was seeing everyone just floored by the generosity of Pampers. I was able to give people about 6 months worth of diapers and wipes and some extra goodies, too!! It felt so good to do this and I can’t stress that enough. Every mom and dad and caretaker works so hard because they just LOVE their baby, you just do it because you want to and you need to… I loved being able to give back to these amazing moms and dads.

One of the dad’s said to me, “Nothing good ever happens to us, maybe now it will.”

His new little bundle of joy is making him see that beauty and goodness!!

Pampers, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I can’t thank you enough for this incredible grant.
