HomeTeam Connecting Families in a Special Way

I travel for work often.

As much as I love traveling for work, it’s not always easy. With 5 kids, it definitely pulls on my heartstrings when I’m away. It just never gets easier, even as the kids get a little older.

Fortunately with technology, my time away can be a little easier on my heart and on my family thanks to some amazing products and services. Panasonic has created the uber-cool HomeTeam, which is an online family entertainment service. The beauty of the HomeTeam service is that it blends interactive books and games with video calling to create a fun and friendly environment designed to help start real conversations and build lasting memories.

So when I’m away, I don’t have to be “all” away. I can still be there for a bedtime story. Reading before bed is one thing that my children all love to do, especially my youngest 3 – Ben, Henry and Victoria. To them, it’s a bedtime tradition… something that’s done just like brushing teeth and getting jammies on before bedtime. Missing that bedtime story isn’t easy for me. With HomeTeam, this doesn’t have to happen and I personally love this on so many levels – emotionally, physically and mentally. HomeTeam just announced, too that it has expanded its library of digital books to include Disney content featuring familiar characters and stories. About 150 Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel titles have been added to the HomeTeam library including classic content popular among kids, parents and grandparents.

The HomeTeam service caters to families with children under the age of 12 (which is perfect for my family) and features an engaging and easy-to-navigate platform, specifically designed to help families create and maintain healthy relationships.

And in all honestly, learning about HomeTeam got me thinking about my parents and my in-laws. They don’t get to see the kids as much as they’d love to see them. If they could be with the kids every single day, they would. We’re 45 minutes from my parents and 10 hours from my in-laws! My mom LOVES to read with my kids (she was a former reading specialist) and even started a library for my own family when I was pregnant with my very first child in 2004. Truly, this is PERFECT for her because she can read with them whenever she wants. This brings grandparents closer to their grandchildren and truly helps reduce that gap that exists with distance. It’s funny, when my in-laws call to chat with my kids, all you hear is “yes” or “no” from my kids. They don’t give them a lot on the phone, which always makes me feel bad because my kids are non-stop talkers, but you’d never know it on the phone! This way with HomeTeam, they can build relationships with the kids on a completely different level and I think it’s beautiful.

Another perfect fit for HomeTeam would be military families. Imagine having a parent who is deployed, but still be able to connect with family through shared reading and gaming experiences over video chat. It’s a beautiful thing. I actually tear up when I think about the true power of this connection and how amazing it is to have options like this for families who are separated.

You can test it out with your family for free, for 30 days.
