Pantene Beautiful Lengths #8or8 Challenge

The Pantene Beautiful Lengths program is an incredible partnership between Pantene and the American Cancer Society. The role of Pantene with the Beautiful Lengths program is to help women grow long, strong, beautiful hair and to provide the funds to turn this hair into free, real-hair wigs for women with cancer.

Pantene Beautiful Lengths

It’s pretty powerful that you can play a role in changing the life of someone battling cancer through the donation of your hair. It really is something so special, so incredible and so extraordinary for someone to do. The Beautiful Lengths program has received more than 800,000 hair donations from generous men, women and children since July 2006. Pantene has donated over 42,000 free real-hair wigs to the American Cancer Society’s wig banks, which distribute wigs to cancer patients across the country. What I love about hearing those numbers is thinking about how many lives have been impacted and changed for the better because of all of those donations. It’s simply such a beautiful and selfless thing to do.

For women battling cancer and going through treatment, the loss of hair can be very difficult. I think it’s beyond incredible that Pantene wants to be there to help. Pantene wants to be there for women when looking good and feeling healthy is so important. Many of the women Pantene has helped say that putting on a wig makes them feel like themselves again during the toughest fight of their lives and when people across the country donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, they are helping make that happen.

Are you ready to help and be part of this incredible life-changing program?

I’m excited to share the news that September 8th marks the beginning of the Pantene Beautiful Lengths #8or8 Challenge!

Pantene Beautiful Lengths #8or8

The Pantene Beautiful Lengths #8or8 Challenge asks for people to give $8 or cut and donate 8 inches of hair to help create free, real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer. Wigs are distributed free of charge to women with cancer through American Cancer Society Wig Banks.

The first question I asked myself when I heard about this challenge was, WHY 8?

The number eight is significant for Pantene Beautiful Lengths for many reasons – more than 800,000 ponytail donations have been received to-date, it is a minimum donation of an 8 inch ponytail and it takes a minimum of 8 ponytails to create one wig. Also, National Donate Your Hair Day (NDYHD) is also on Sept. 8 this year – it is an annual day of giving that encourages people nationwide to cut and donate their hair to Beautiful Lengths.

I love how Pantene Beautiful Lengths is making it so anyone can get involved and make a difference! You choose which “8” you want to do and then you challenge yourself to do it!

Thanks for posting about this! I donated 10 inches years ago, and now would have at least the 8 to donate again, maybe I will do it again!
