Daily Diary: A Priceless Photo

There are certain moments in life that we often wish had been captured by photo or video. This weekend while away in Pittsburgh for Ben’s birthday and Easter, my husband caught one of those precious and priceless moments.

Every year for Easter, we always get a photo of the kids in their “matching” outfits. It’s sort of “my” thing. Since the boys are getting older, I know my matching days are quickly coming to an end. This year – fortunately – I was still able to do it. I even bought a dress for Victoria with a navy blue stripe to match her the shirts of the boys.

Fashion wise, we were on point. 🙂

As the kids were gathering around the spot Matt that picked out for them, I told Alex to fix the button on his shirt. He was having a tough time getting it unbuttoned and kept saying to me, “I can’t get it, Mom.”

All of a sudden, Victoria says, “I do.” She then turned around and started to play with his shirt button.

It was in that moment that Matt captured this photo…

This simple moment brought me to tears.

She wasn’t able to unbutton it (Daddy saved the day with that), but it was the gesture that she tried.

All I could think about was someday at Alex’s wedding, Victoria helping him with his tie or his tux buttons. It warmed my heart in a million different directions.

I will cherish this photo forever. It truly captures my children.

Alex letting Victoria help him. William making sure she doesn’t fall. Henry just standing there still smiling. And Benjamin just patiently waiting.

I love these 5 little people so much.
