If you’re been a reader or follower of Mom Generations for some time now, you know that in 2009 I started a series called, “365 Days of Fashion Advice for Moms” on January 1st, 2009. Every single day over the course of 2009 and 2010 (I did it the next year, too), I shared one piece of fashion advice. I wanted my advice to be easy, practical and doable. I wanted my fashion advice to be really helpful for moms out there. I really wanted to help make a fashion difference.
Today I’m starting my 365 Days of Fashion Advice for Moms again.
So today… on January 1st, 2015, I’m going to share with you my first piece of advice for the New Year.
This is a truly easy piece of advice, but it’s a piece of advice that I need to follow and listen to, too!
Shop your closet. Shop it. Know it. Use it.
I’m taking 2015 as a year to see what I have and use what I have. I can’t tell you how many times I’ll say to myself, “Oh… I need a new pair of jeans.” Meanwhile, I have about 50 pairs in my closet. Enough to enough.
Today for my New Year’s Day outfit, I went to my closet and started putting my items in an organized order. As I was doing this, I came across shoes and pants and tops I FORGOT I had! It was like shopping all over again. The beauty is when you know what you have, you’ll know what you need.
All items I’ve had in my closet, just waiting to be used again and again and again!
Sweater Coat: CAbi
Handbag: Michael Kors
Start this tomorrow!
You’ll be excited to see what you find, I promise!
And this way, you’ll be ready to add in items that are seasonal, trending and just (let’s face it) you gotta have – but you’ll have your fashion foundation already set.
