Pampers is Paying it Forward with the Gift of Sleep

About a year ago, my brother and his wife (along with my niece and nephew) started volunteering on weekend mornings at the Mathewson Street Friendship Breakfast. It’s a place where anyone in the community can go to get a warm, hot breakfast.

It has impacted my brother and sister-in-law, along with my niece and nephew immensely.

You see first-hand how hunger – so close to home – effects people and families.

A wonderful man named Scott runs the Mathewson Street Friendship Breakfast and he relies on donations in order to fulfill breakfast.

The Mathewson Street Sunday Morning Friendship Breakfast is a combination of a meal site and a worship service, encouraging people with resources to befriend people with limited resources, including the homeless.

It really is a beautiful thing.

My sister in law called me about a month ago looking to see if I had any baby items/products around the house that I could possibly donate to to the Mathewson Street Friendship Breakfast.  She explained to me that there was a family that comes and they just found out they are expecting twins and they don’t have much, so anything I could donate would be appreciated.

I donated a stroller, a baby monitor, clothing and a few extra packs of diapers I had around the house.

It was all I had at that time to donate… and I’m telling you, I really wish I had had more to send to this family.

It was about a week later when I got an email from my contacts at the Pampers Baby Board sharing with me a beautiful “Give Back” Gift of Sleep idea for the holidays. Pampers encourages families across the country to “give back” in celebration of Pampers mission to provide all babies with love, sleep and play, and they started with their Baby Board!

This is why I LOVE working with Pampers, they are just amazing.

Pampers diapers are three times drier than ordinary diapers – meeting the needs of babies for unprecedented and superior overnight dryness  protection! With overnight dryness in mind, they offered me the opportunity to help “gift” the gift of sleep to a baby or family in your community.

All I could think about was the family from the Mathewson Street Friendship Breakfast.

I called my sister-in-law immediately to let her know that I would LOVE to gift to this family, my Pampers Gift of Sleep…
Pampers Gift of Sleep
4 packs of diapers
4 tubs of Pampers Sensitive wipes
1 baby blanket
1 Sleep Sheep
$100 Gift Card

I wasn’t sure what to do with the $100 gift card. Pampers said we could do anything we want with it… as a new mom myself, I felt the best gift I could give this family was the full $100 gift card to let them do with it what they needed. Bottles? Toys? Mobile? Sheets? Pacifiers? Baby food? I wanted them to enjoy this gift and use it for what they truly needed it for with their new babies.

I dropped everything off yesterday with my brother and he is hand-delivering it this Sunday.

I have to say, it felt SO GOOD giving the items to him and knowing they were going to someone who needed them and would appreciate them so much.

Pampers… I can’t thank you enough for the generous Gift of Sleep to Give Back to someone.

I hope this inspires some of my readers to do the same during the holidays.

Audrey
