Last Christmas Eve, I started a new tradition with my whole family thanks to JOHNSON’S. They had sent me items to create special and helpful baby care kits for moms and babies in need and I thought it would be a meaningful activity to do with my own family. I’m a member of the JOHNSON’S CARE Council, so I’m honored to be able to work with them throughout the year on fun and incredible projects. I’ve been using JOHNSON’S all my mom-life, so the brand is extra-extra special to me. But last year, I couldn’t get over how incredible it was to see last year all of my nieces and nephews working together to build the baby care kits. They took the time to really make sure they were all packed neatly and beautifully… and they attached a special note to each one. It was an eye-opener for me. I knew from that very moment last year that every single Christmas Eve going forward, we should do something to give back to someone else with my family each year. This special activity that I got to do with JOHNSON’S last year had that kind of impact on me and my family.
Truly.
So… earlier this month when JOHNSON’S reached out to me to see if I would be open to creating JOHNSON’S baby care kits again this year, to say I jumped at the chance is an understatement.
JOHNSON’S® is so much more than just a company that makes baby products, and I love that about them. They care about the healthy development of babies and are committed to supporting families worldwide. They want to ensure that every baby has a healthy and happy start by providing educational initiatives, product donations and financial support. I absolutely think it’s beyond incredible that they spearheaded again this year the Baby Care Kits.
On #GivingTuesday, JOHNSON’S Baby made a new commitment to the happy, healthy development of babies with the launch of More Hands, More Hearts. Through their partner Save the Children, they are donating essential resources, including JOHNSON’S® baby care kits and a special grant, to help moms ensure their babies thrive. With the additional support of singer, actress, philanthropist and mom Jennifer Hudson, JOHNSON’S employees assembled JOHNSON’S baby care kits that will be distributed to Save the Children families. Each kit will include JOHNSON’S® products and other baby care basics such as bottles, onesies and toys that enrich a child’s development.
I’m honored to be part of More Hands, Healthy Hearts this holiday with my family.
I set everything up that JOHNSON’S sent me and got everything ready for our Social Good Party on Christmas Eve! I created an assembly line for the kids to make it easier. Inside each box:
• JOHNSON’S® Baby Take Along Packs
• Fisher-Price® Easy Stack ‘n Sounds™ Blocks
• Carter’s® Short-Sleeve Bodysuits
• Munchkin White Hot® Safety Bath Duckies
And then the kids got to work! I’m telling you, this was amazing to see the kids all working together for a common goal and for social good. They all took such pride in creating beautiful baskets and helping each other out. When each box was completed, they would stack them up!
Once we finished all 20 JOHNSON’S Baby Care Kits, I got all the kids together for a BIG photo… even tried to get Victoria (17 months) and my nephew Brian (10 months) in there, too!
They look pretty amazing all lined up, huh?
We will be donating them to a local charity. Also, I will be sharing my photos on the Johnson & Johnson’s Donate A Photo App. Every photo shared during the month of December, JOHNSON’S® will double the donation when you select Save the Children®, up to $100,000!
