OK, my husband is OBSESSED with Comic-Con.

I’m talking… OBSESSED. Every year he tells me, “We should go!” We’ve just never gotten there, hopefully someday we can go together!

How cool, right?

But I have the next best thing right now.

Downy asked me and my family to get comfortable in our own skin and get into the spirit of Comic-Con in our real, day-to-day lives. Since we happen to LIVE on the pool deck with my sons, and happen to be at a swim meet up in New Hampshire (3 hours away from home right now!), I thought – OMG, this is PERFECT. Since my son William calls one of his super-powers swimming, I knew this request from Downy came at the most perfect time!

We didn’t have costumes with us. So we really dug into our real lives and worked with what we’ve got. We knew we could be creative with what we had with us in New Hampshire on the pool deck – towels! Oh, yes… towels and baby blankets. Hey – this is REAL LIFE! 🙂

I had the woman sitting next to us at the swim meet help us tie the towels and baby blankets on as capes and then asked her to take a family photo of us!

LOL… talk about being comfortable in our in our own skin! We had about 30 people stop and watch our little impromptu photo shoot!

OK, Downy… what do you think? Comic-Con worthy??

Oh, yes… at a swim meet with 100’s of people around us, we posed for photos with capes on! I loved it! People were smiling and asking if they wanted anyone else to join on in! I was laughing so hard!! I love the spirit of people, especially swim parents!

But it’s my kids who were the most, most comfortable in their skin!

My Alex, Ben and Henry… which, give them a cape and they literally think they rule the world, even when that cape is their sister’s pink blankie! I love the passion these 3 kids have!

My my REAL SUPERHERO of the weekend, my son William. He did an amazing job swimming this weekend and walked away with 5 medals, 2 of which were for coming in 1st in New England! BOOM!

Oh, yes… we got VERY comfortable, fast!
