My Grandmother is 89 years old today.

I can’t believe it. 89 years old.

That’s a lot of life.

My grandmother is the kindest, most gentle, most adorable, most lovely woman in the world. She really is. She just loves her family so much and it’s so amazing to see and be part of. I’ve always had a very special bond with my Grandma. I remember being as young as 8 years old and calling her up just to chat. I would do that throughout my life… in high school, in college, living in NYC, as a first time mom and even now. My grandmother doesn’t want for much in life… she just wants the love of her family, it’s pretty simple.

Today as we all stood around her as she was about to blow out her 89 candles… yes, my mom actually put 89 candles on her cake… all I could do was think about all the people around her. She had her daughter, 2 granddaughters and 3 grandsons, her son-in-law, 3 grand-in-laws and then 11 great grand children.

It was a beautiful thing to see. It made me tear up. He life. All of us there and singing and laughing and cheering her on… we’re all these in existence because of her.

My grandma. My adorable, cute, little 5 foot grandma (OK, 4 foot 10 inch)… I love her more than anything!

I wish for her that her 89th year be filled with love, joy, happiness, good health and family.
