Advice from my Mother and $250 Giveaway from FTD.com #100Moms #FTD #MothersDay

May 11th is Mother’s Day.

It’s so cute seeing my sons get so excited about Mother’s Day. They keep saying to me, “Mom! Don’t forget! Your Day is coming up!” It’s always with excitement. I love it because I remember being the same way to MY mom when I was a kid, too. I was always so excited about her special Mother’s Day because we tried our best to make her feel special and extra-loved all day long.

We would always bring her breakfast in bed (cold cereal and orange juice!) and bring her the paper. My father would ALWAYS surprise her with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. ALWAYS. It’s been his tradition for 35+ years of her motherhood on Mother’s Day – a spectacular bouquet of flowers.

This Mother’s Day on May 11th, 2014… is extra special. It’s the 100th year since the U.S. Congress officially designated the holiday as the second Sunday of May every year. Amazing, right?

FTD has been here the whole time making moms feel special on Mother’s Day! As a premier floral and gifting destination for 103 years, FTD has been delivering flowers since the 1st Mother’s Day and they are doing something VERY special this Mother’s Day for moms everywhere! There are hundreds and hundreds of reasons why we love our moms so much… to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mother’s Day, FTD wants to hear YOUR reasons why you love your mom!

The advice to embrace and cherish the ordinary moments has always been my favorite. I’ve taken this advice to heart and truly have loved and embraced and cherished all the little moments in my life with my kids. It could be a Monday night doing homework or a Thursday night bedtime routine. It’s the ordinary moments that I will forever love and cherish.

Thank you, Mom. I love you so much and I honor and cherish you every single day through my own children and in trying to be the best mom to them that you are to me.

I would send my mom a calla lily. I had them as my wedding bouquet and so did my grandmother. They have special meaning.
