Matt and I had thought long and hard about having a 5th baby. We honestly thought about it for a full year. I remember Matt even saying to me one night, “If we don’t do it in the next few months, I just don’t think we’ll ever do it.” That was kind of the “OK, if we want to – we need to do it” wake-up call.

The thing was, after having the 4 boys right in a row and then having them all be 4, 5, 6 and 7 (back in 2012)… life was getting (dare I say it, easy). No more strollers. No more cribs. No more diapers. No more baby toys. No more baby things.

What can I say, Matt and I have never taken the “easy” route in life. We wanted another and regardless of how many reasons there were not to have another baby, it was all that we both wanted for our family. As many of you know from reading my blog, I miscarried back in June 2012. It was devastating for me. I thought for sure it would set us back, but in October I got the news that we were expecting again.

9 months later our beautiful Victoria was born. The first girl after 4 boys.

Our 5th baby.
Our 5th little love.
Our 5th child.

I joke that she’s the luckiest girl in the world because she has 4 boys, a dad and a mom that drool over everything she does. She’s just a happy girl. She’s always smiling and always just happy to go along for the ride!

I love to dream of what will be when she’s older.

High School.
College.
Bringing boys home.
Getting married.
Having her 1st baby.

She’s just OUR girl. And when I say OUR girl, I mean… all of us – me, Matt, William, Alex, Ben and Henry.

I laughed today when I heard giggling from her in the kitchen. I walked into find Alex, Ben and Henry playing “Sharks and Minnows” with her this afternoon. I got caught up in the moment because I loved how her brothers were including her in this game. It touched my heart.

She was literally laughing out loud and I loved it.

Our 5th… this little lady was so very meant to be. And she’s going to be one tough broad!
