Vera Sweeney and I had the pleasure and the best time yesterday hosting an event with Crayola in NYC as they launched their My Virutal Fashion Show! It was the PERFECT way to kick off fashion week! We invited some of our closest blogging friends to come kick off fashion week with us at Dylan’s Candy Bar where we celebrated KIDS designing and creating and making masterpieces!

My Virtual Fashion Show lets you bring fashion designs to life on a virtual runway! It is the perfect combination of 2 worlds colliding… coloring/drawing/sketching and the digital world. Your child (or you!) designs their own fashions and then they snap a photo with their iPod/iPhone/tablet/Android devices. The My Virtual Fashion Show app transforms the designs into a stunning runway presentation with a model and all! It is truly the coolest app ever!

Dylan’s Candy Bar was the most perfect setting for this event with Crayola! It was fun. It was energetic. It was creative. It was bright and bold. It was PERFECT for kids!

What got me was seeing the passion in each child’s eyes as they created. Each of them had their own special fashion mark, their own special creation… but the children came ALIVE when they saw their fashions in the virtual fashion show! It was the most memorable part of the event! They all stood there saying, “There’s mine!” with pride! It was beautiful.

I just had the best time hosting with Vera and really just seeing the iconic brand of Crayola help create magic! It was awesome to be part of!

My son Alexander had some fun with the My Virtual Fashion Show today! He created a gorgeous rainbow strapless dress for me!
