P&G’s New “Pick Them Back Up” – [I dare you not to cry]

I’m telling you, P&G just nails it.

Every. Single. Time.

I just sat and watched P&G’s “Thank You, Mom” team campaign for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games…   “Pick Them Back Up” ad and I’m sitting here with tears streaming down my cheeks.

As a mom, I get it… but on a much different level right now. I’m in the “little” stages.

I’m packing swim bags. I’m sitting on hot pool decks every weekend. I’m watching them practice starts and turns over and over. I’m watching their arms get out of the water for the butterfly. I’m there when a personal best isn’t made. I’m there when the goggles snap at the beginning of a race. I’m there when there’s a touch-out.

I’m on a ski slope, nervous to put them in ski school. I’m still zipping jackets and tying boots. I’m warming hats and gloves. I’m there when they fall, to tell them, “They will get it, just keep trying.”

I’m on the baseball field watching balls fly, as bats are supposed to swing. I’m giving the thumbs up when a fly ball is caught. I’m sitting there nervous while a pitch is being thrown. I’m there when there’s a strike out and when there’s tears. I’m still reminding them to get their baseball gloves after the games.

I’m in the beginning of it all… I’m in the “what if they practice hard and have a gift for one of these sports.” You just never know… because we all have to start at the beginning as a mom. We need to pick them up and help them go after their dreams.

When I see these beautiful videos that P&G created – it moves me to tears. It gets me in the heart. I just… melt.

This P&G video captures that Mom was was there to teach us that falling only makes us stronger – and giving us the encouragement to try again.
