My Husband's 20th High School Reunion

My husband’s 20th high school reunion was Saturday night in Pittsburgh, PA.

The thing about my husband is this… he has been blessed to have a core group of friends throughout his life. He grew up right next door to one of his best friend’s… who now is the Godfather of our son William. He went to elementary school with 3 guys who have been best friends throughout life – Dan, Ash and Mike – and were ALL in our wedding party. He has 4 best friends from college and he’s become best buds with a wonderful guy who our kids go to school with… believe me, when it comes to friends in his life, my husband has been truly blessed. We know we could call anyone of these guys in a HEARTBEAT – and they’d be there, and vice versa.

Which brings me back to his reunion.

Of course… not going to high school with my husband, I’ve wondered what he was like “back then.” He was good looking. He was an athlete. He was good in school. He was… a good guy.
I laugh because I’ve often told him, if we had gone to high school together, he’s the guy I totally would’ve had a crush on, but I don’t think he would have dated me! LOL… really. 🙂

But the truth is, we all come to relationships with a past… and his past was wrapped up in black and gold colors Saturday night. About 50 people gathered for their reunion and it was really fun catching up with his friends and their wives, along with meeting people he went to high school with that I’ve been excited to meet. Crazy enough, I’m Facebook friends with many of his friends, so I actually “know” many of them through status updates and photos… so it made it even more fun for me. 🙂

It was funny, I felt like we were getting ready for prom – except we had 5 kids downstairs waiting for us to see what we look like…
