CelesteStein.com Compression Hosiery and my daughter’s comment, “New look, Mom?”

How to wear Compression Hosiery AND make a fashion statement…

Several weeks ago, my very active 88-year old Mom fell and suffered a very serious wound on the back of her calf. This accident has required stitches, daily care, multiple visits to a wound recovery clinic and has kept her from her daily routine at her local senior center.

This has been a challenging time for my Mom because yes, she is active. My Mom walks the halls of her senior housing every day, logging in miles and miles of walking. But she’s also a fashionista, most famous for her whimsical and/or colorful socks that match her vibrant tops, blouses, sweaters.

Truth be told, fashionistas and wound compression socks don’t mix and match, so to speak.

As my Mom’s Caregiver, this has been a challenging time for me, as well… to see my Mom trying to be upbeat, but feeling that 2-steps forward, 1-step back recovery theme, wrapped in beige compression.

This dilemma got me researching on-line for compression hosiery with a statement; something fun, something upbeat and fashionable, like my Mom.

Oh, how ’bout a “statement” like Celeste Stein Purple Peacock, Bright Majik, Blue Fleur Missoni, Black Versache, Cougar Denim, Leopard, Austin Powers, Raspberry Hill, Multi Gogo or Midnight Lace?

I thought I’d begin my Mom with Midnight Lace. Go figure.

I hopped on-line and had 2 pairs at my doorstep within a few days. My Mom loves them.

I love them.

I’m a runner, and I love anything that makes my legs feel good with improved circulation when I’m not running.

So I happened to have on a pair of Midnight Lace peeking out from under my running pants (after my 4-mile run!) when my daughter Jane stopped by our home. She looked at my legs. She looked at me. She smiled.

“New look, Mom?” she asked.

“Yep,” I answered…

Now my Mom will be out walking her hallways in style, comfort and therapeutic compression while her healing continues. I’m thinking of getting her some Blue Fleur Missoni and Raspberry Hill to add to her collection.

Me? I’m thinking Leopard, Cougar Denim or Austin Powers… after running and just plain anyway, Baby!

I love that you were not afraid to try compression socks even though your mom was the one who needed them. Aren’t they comfortable? I have black circulation socks on my online beauty store because it’s better than the standard beige. The circulation benefits and comfort are worth sporting a new look!
