Jumpstart is Hosting their 8th Read for the Record Event on October 3, 2013

Education is such an important piece in raising a child.

As the daughter of 2 retired teachers, I knew first-hand as a child how important and crucial education was for me and my siblings. My parents took the time to do homework with us and read with us every single night.

I have done the same with my own children. Education is key, and we make it a point to work with our kids as much as we can. Reading is such a big thing for us, and we love sharing books at night with the boys.

I’m excited to share that Jumpstart is hosting their 8th Read for the Record Event on October 3rd, 2013.

I just love Jumpstart’s mission: To work toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. And I think it’s amazing that they are now hosting their 8th! Yes, 8th Read for the Record Event this October. It is the one time of the year when millions of individuals come together to celebrate literacy and support Jumpstart in its efforts to promote early childhood education. Each year, Jumpstart tries to break the world record for most individuals reading the same book in the same day. Last year, 2.3 million people participated.

I would love for you to join me and pledge to read! This year’s book is: “Otis” by Loren Long.

Grab your kids and do something special in October 3rd… it will be a wonderful!
