Bright Star Kids is a Back-to-School Time Essential!

It’s Back-to-School time!

This year I have 4 boys heading into the same school — we’ve got a kindergartener, a 1st grader, a 2nd grader and a 3rd grader. All my boys will be roaming the same hallways. Someone hold me. It’s very bittersweet for me, especially seeing my youngest son head into Kindergarten.

With ALL the boys heading to school that means we’ve got 4 backpacks, 4 lunch packs, 4 jackets all needed to be packed and ready to go in the morning! I’ve bought all the necessary back-to-school clothing items and supplies. And now we’re just ready for August 28th to get here.

This year I have VOWED to be more organized.

With 4 boys… they all like to have their “own” things. They don’t mind sharing, but when it comes to clothes and folders and thermoses and books, they like to have their own. To be honest with you, I get that. It’s important for them to feel like big boys and learn some independence by taking care of their own personal things. Last year I made the mistake of just buying a bunch of the same looking folders, notebooks and rulers for the boys. Each one of them tried to “mark” their item, but it didn’t always work.

Not to mention… clothing.

My sons are not all the same size, but they have the same style, so I will literally buy the same “red shorts” in 4 different sizes. Unless they actually check the size tag, they never know whose is who. Last year my son William went to school one day in his brother’s shorts… a whooping 3 sizes too small for him. I was laughing so hard when I dropped him off that day because something just looked “off” and I couldn’t tell what it was off the bat. When we got out at school and we were walking in, I realized his shorts just looked too – well, short. I looked at the tag and saw he was wearing Henry’s shorts! Mama mia! It was at that point that I knew I needed to get a better system down with the clothes. I knew I needed to start labeling things, and PRONTO! I also knew I needed to keep their clothes much more separated in the folding piles for them and also make sure that they are actively checking sizes/labels before putting things away in their own drawers. I also should probably not be buying the same clothes for them in different sizes anymore… but it’s just so cute! 😉

Bright Star Kids is an essential for moms for back-to-school time… not just for brother-clothing-mishaps, but for organizing life.

Bright Star Kids has 2 main types of labels – stick-on and iron-on. I appreciate both options because it makes it easy for me to be able to have a variety of uses for their labels.

Stick-on labels are extremely durable, so they’ll withstand the wear and tear of dishwashers. They’re 100% waterproof and scratch resistant. They’ll stick to most kinds of plastics and will stay stuck for years. When you’re ready to remove them, simply peel off and no residue will be left behind. This is perfect for water bottles, thermoses and tupperware containers.

Iron-on labels are quick and easy to pop on to all your kids clothing. They will stay stuck in the toughest washing machine and clothes dryer cycle, and will still look great in years to come. This is perfect for someone like me who has multiple kids who like having the same clothes, but that comes along with all different sizes. I also love being able to label because my sons are involved in so many activities, and labeling jackets, hats, gloves, etc. is perfect for us.
