Today as I write this, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new baby niece, Victoria. To say that I am excited would be a big understatement!
Victoria will make me an Auntie for the 10th time, and her arrival is just as exciting as my previous 9 nieces and nephews. But it has been almost 5 years since one of my siblings welcomed a new baby, so there is great anticipation in our family for a newborn.
As far as the nieces vs. nephews count goes, nephews have dominated in numbers: I have 7 nephews…
… and Victoria will be my 3rd niece. My other 2 nieces were born over 12 years ago!
It is going to be so different to have a baby girl in the family again.
But for now, I will wait. And wait. I will keep my phone near me in case my parents call with baby news. I will check Facebook to see if Audrey or Matt post any pictures.
And later today, when I snuggle my little niece, all the waiting will be well worth it.
