Family Time: June is National Safety Month
June is National Safety Month and P&G is working with moms and dads in helping to create P&G Safe Homes, I absolutely LOVE this. As a mom of 4, with one on the way, I love being able to take this month and really hone in on safety for me and my family. As the captain/co-captain of my family’s ship, it is up to me (and my husband) to ensure that our home is always happy and safe for our growing family and loved ones.
I absolutely LOVE how the website – Home Made Simple from P&G has their Safe Home section – is taking the time to educate and inform parents with wonderful and important and essential safety tips. There are so many ways to make sure your home stays safe and happy, and sometimes you can overlook something simple, and I appreciate the resources/tips and advice that Home Made Simple brings to me for my family.
Since June just started, I’m literally going through the different areas of my home to make sure everything is safe for my family.
My first focus is on my laundry area and routine.
There are 2 things I do to effectively incorporate safety into this household chore that I (literally) do about 3-4 times a day (welcome to a life with 4 sons!):
1) I make sure that all laundry detergent is out of reach and out of sight of my children. I literally put my Tide and my Downy in a locked cabinet to ensure only me and my husband can reach it.
2) There are safety locks on my washer and dryer so my sons don’t have access to open the doors.
Safety is something that all moms and dads need to think about for their home. Take this month to really sit down and make sure you are doing all the measures that you can to keep your home safe, happy and secure for you and your family.
