Transforming my living room space with La-Z-Boy

Transforming my living room space with La-Z-Boy

We’ve lived in our house for 6 years now.

Our house has seen many changes. When we first bought our house we had just moved from NYC and literally felt overwhelmed with all the space we needed to fill up. We had a one-bedroom apartment in the City that we had filled to the very brim with furniture… as every New Yorker knows, you fill every single square inch. When we bought this house in Rhode Island, we couldn’t get over how much space he had to “play” with, we didn’t nearly have enough furniture to fill it, so we decided to buy in spurts.

One of the first areas we decided to decorate and make feel-like-home was our living room. After all, the living room is pretty much a hub of our home, we had 2 little boys at the time when we moved in and we were using all of the space for toys, TV and a couch. As the boys got older and we added 2 more sons, our living room’s needs changed for us. Our playroom became the place where the boys liked to go and our living room over the last 2 years has become a destination spot for me and my husband. So we had a mission a couple of years ago… make it ours.

We bought a gigantic comfy-couch for the room, purchased a new coffee table, rug, TV console and TV… but always had a section of the living room as “dead space.”

The space was a void in our living room and it ALWAYS bothered me. I wanted to transform it, but was never sure exactly what to do with it.

Enter La-Z-Boy. They gave me a blogging challenge.

Head to a local store.
Check out the furniture.
Bring an item into your home.
Let them know what I thought.

Easy enough, right?

So in late December we treaded with all 4 boys to our local La-Z-Boy location in Warwick, RI. Jake – the store manager – greeted us and brought us through the whole store.

I’m telling you… I was BLOWN away!

ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY.

There was SO MUCH to choose from, I don’t know why… but I kind of always thought that La-Z-Boy only sold recliners. Boy… I was wrong!

Recliners
Sofas
Loveseats
Chairs
Sectionals
Ottomans
Coffee Tables
Lamps
Home Decor
Outside Furniture

There was something for EVERY room of your home! I couldn’t get over how amazing everything was and how reasonable the prices were. Not to mention, the staff at the Warwick location was SUPERB. Jake let my sons try out furniture and truly catered to the fact that they were kids, and their parents were here furniture shopping.

We had our heart on finding a recliner, it’s something my husband ALWAYS, ALWAYS wanted and so I thought it would be the perfect “potential” addition to the “void” in our living room.

As soon as we saw the Joshua recliner in the store, I was hooked! I knew it was EXACTLY what we needed in our home. I loved the leather. I loved the recliner. I loved the rocking feature. It was IT.

COMFORT is my main concern and when I saw that it had a chaise seat, pillow arms and a tiered cushion back, I knew that it would be the perfect “throne” in our house. The style was also versatile and that was important to me because I can change around our living room decor – paint, hangings, curtains, rugs – without worrying about it not looking good. Not to mention, the smooth rocking motion, which will be perfect for our baby girl arriving in July!

As you can tell, I was a little ga-ga at the store when we went…

But then it got to our house… and my husband become ga-ga…

LOL… and my sons…

But… take a look as to how it actually looks in our home!

This La-Z-Boy addition to our home has been the kick-off to transforming this living room space for our family. It’s absolutely perfection.

If you’re looking to bring in PURE comfort and quality in furniture into your home, look NO further!
