It’s beginning to stay light past 5 p.m.
My sons kick off their Spring Baseball League in two weeks.
Spring break for school is coming up.
And yes… I’m even beginning to wear lighter coats.

Spring, I’ve been ready for you.

I always get excited around this time of year because everything is so alive and welcoming and about to bloom.

As a family we’ll start building our outdoor gardens, swapping winter clothes for lighter spring options and begin our big spring cleaning. I love to kick off a new season with a deep, thorough cleaning. For my family the BIG challenge is keeping up with everything and having it stay clean. I’m vowing to make spring cleaning easy and continuous for my family and me this season. I need to be realistic and be smart about how I can keep my house clean and staying spring fresh over the next few months.

I need spring cleaning to be quick and easy. That’s what will best fit into my busy life. I know with four little kids it won’t be spotless always, but I do want it to be clean in the areas of my home that are the most frequented… the kitchen being the biggest hotspot.

In my kitchen, what seems to need the most attention are my kitchen counters. With four sons… let’s just put it this way, we’ve got lots of messes and spills on my countertops. Not to mention, remnants of breakfast, lunch and dinner… always.

I have to admit, it’s the one thing that totally bums me out; walking into my kitchen and seeing my counters dirty and not shiny clean. There’s something really yucky about that for me. I like to see them sparkling, and I like to see them shining!
