Ready For Our 2013 Florida Vacation

Tomorrow we leave for our annual vacation to South Florida. We will be there for 10 days! I really should be finishing up my packing right now and running last-minute errands, but I’m blogging instead. (I’ll get all of that done… it’ll just probably be tonight at 11:55pm.)

This will be my fourth year going to the timeshare condo that Brian’s parents purchased over 30 years ago. Brian’s mom brought him on his first trip there when he was 7 days old! She flew on a plane with Brian and his older brother – who was 3.5 at the time – all by herself. Wonder woman!

I am SO looking forward to this trip. I LOVE the resort we go to. I LOVE the weather there this time of year. I LOVE the Ft. Lauderdale area, and exploring it while we’re there. I LOVE being on vacation and just feeling relaxed.

A scene from our 2012 trip to South Florida

The things I’m not looking forward to are: flying to get there (and back), wearing a bikini (unfortunately, I totally failed at my effort to get fit over the last few weeks), and being away from the dogs (we’re going to miss them so much, but I know they will be well taken care of by a tag-team of family and friends).

With any luck, this will be the last big vacation we take before having kids. For our trip next year, I’m hoping we’ll be bringing along a baby (or at least have one on the way). When we have kids I know there won’t be much relaxing during vacation, so I’m going to just focus on doing a lot of that now!

I’ll try to remember to do some blogging while we’re away. I’ll just have to multi-task while I’m lounging by the pool sipping a frozen drink.  😉

You’ll be fine on the plane. I promise. I understand because I am the same way and I am not clear of mind when I fly but when a friend who hates flying flies, I am — and I know you will have a great time. And yes, focus on relaxing…because, like you, I’m hoping you’ll have a baby next year. Have fun and take care.

I’m envisioning warmth and sunshine and drinks by the pool – ahhh! And 10 days is a REAL get away from reality!
ENJOY your time – post pictures of your fun and relaxation! 🙂

Jane, I hope you have the BEST time! You both look so relaxed in that picture! Now, don’t worry about blogging. Or the plane. That’s why I take Dramamine. Just focus on having a wonderful, relaxing vacation with your man. And by the way, THANK YOU for your email. You rock. Let’s do lunch again in Bristol when you get back, OK?! XO

That looks like fun!! I agree with Chelley – vacation with kids is fun and relaxing just in different ways. We spent our last vacation before kids in Bar Harbor, Maine. Good memories!!
