Daily Diary: Naming our Baby Girl McClelland

Daily Diary: Naming our Baby Girl McClelland

It hasn’t been easy.

Everyone – including the boys – has their opinion as to what we should name Baby Girl McClelland.

I’m now 20 1/2 weeks along and feel like it’s time to start calling this little lady by a name. She’ll be here before we know it, and I want to make sure we all start calling her by her name… it’s what we did for all the boys.

To be honest, we had the boys named by 3 months, the fact that I’m already almost 5 months along, we’re late in the naming game for our standards!

I have my own favorite name. A name that I just feel is it. A name that just screams, “THIS IS IT!”

But… I know I’m not the only one with an opinion.

I thought it would be fun to candidly video Matt and I talking names…

… and *I think* a decision has been made, so will be sharing final name soon!

I LOVE the name that starts with V!!! I think I had it on my list too, but my Matt didn’t really warm up for that either. If Kris had been a girl she would have been Camilla. But I love the family tradition behind the M name too! Both beautiful names, can’t go wrong! So happy for you guys.

Love seeing you guys hash it out. It’s so hard to pick names! Also, I am the worst about letting my phone fill up 🙂

Our two youngest have four names, my MIL is French and it is a European tradition. I caution you to have a MF initial 😉 My suggestion to honor all and have a beautiful name: VMFM! What a blessed girl.

I am 22 weeks and going through the same thing!! We are having a boy and I am pretty sure on a name but we didn’t want to pick one and then have him come out not looking like that name fits at all! Having a V name is awesome although Maggie is super cute too! Good Luck!

BTW read your book, still reference it every week, and loved it! Hoping that it will help me sculpt the site that my sis and I started! Anyways thanks for your site, we love it!

We’ve named three girls, and I can’t say that any of them were that difficult. Judd has always wanted to name a girl Esther Joy, because he knew a sweet little girl named that. But it never set right with me. We went with Emma, Olivia and Ava

Picking names is tough business. Somehow my husband and I managed to settle on names for both of our girls while we were shopping for baby furniture at about 22-23 weeks along. Nothing like naming babies amongst cribs and dressers.

So fun to watch that candid video – especially the part where your husband says, “crickets.” Totally made me laugh.

I vote for Margaret, but I like all of your picks…including Zoe! 😉

Victoria was on my short list for A, too. But Steve never warmed up to it and he used one of his vetoes. Still love the name.

And Margaret is so pretty. One of our close friends has a Margaret Shea. (love that.) We all call her Maggie which is just adorable.
