“Seriously… I do know how to swim!”

My son William’s best strokes are butterfly, backstroke and freestyle.

When it comes to breaststroke, he needs a little help.

His right foot seems to invert and if it happens to do that in a swim race, he’ll get disqualified.

Long story short, that’s the LAST thing we want to happen.

I keep telling my son that I know a “thing or two about breaststroke because it was MY stroke when I swam.”  I just don’t think he believes me.  But today, he needed to.  He was about to swim the breaststroke and he desperately needed help in having someone go through the kick with him again.  I told my husband, “that’s it… this little guy’s going to have to listen to me.”

And you know what?

He did.

He asked me questions.
He listened intently.

And you know what?

He did awesome!

Sometimes it’s just important for your kids to know that before you were a mom… you “were” good at other things!
