Sexier Holiday Fashions for Moms (because we CAN pull it off…)

I’m all about dressing appropriately for every occasion.

I don’t think it’s necessary (at all) to flash the “girls” or jack up a mini (at any time of year), I’ve always been one for the classier, the better.

I received an email from a reader last week that got me thinking about “sexier” holiday dressing.

She asked me, “Audrey – Can you recommend a few ways to dress sexier without looking inappropriate?”

I thought it was an excellent question… and honestly, one that I’m sure many, many women wonder. The holidays are all about dressing up and feeling beautiful and sometimes even glamorous. It doesn’t mean you have to wear conservative sweater sets and loafers… you can feel on the sexier side without screaming sexy.

How can you do this?

Here are 7 different fashionable items that are sexier, but are appropriate to pull-off… or, as I like to say, “family-friendly-fashions.”

1) Nordstrom ‘Graphic Chevron’ Tights Black – These are absolutely stunning for the holidays. Forget about your basic black tight, find a graphic and work it! I love this Chevron print with a Little Black Dress or ANY kind of skirt or dress for the holidays. I love that they’re a little sexier than a classic black tight, too.

2) The Limited’s Lace Sheath Dress – Forget about a basic Little Black Dress, go with a Little Black Lace Dress! Sexy and totally-feminine. It’s a fun way to kick off a little sexy. 🙂

3) Bluefly’s Chelsea Flower – Sheer blouse time! You’ll absolutely (we’re not going that sexy!) need a camisole underneath this blouse, but I’ll tell you… what a cute and sexy way to wear a blouse this holiday season. I think it also adds a chic touch to an outfit. Very easy to wear with trouser pants or a pencil skirt.

4) Alice + Olivia Dandi Open-Back Lace Dress – If you have an event to go to and need a fabulous “fancy” dress, go with an open back dress! It’s a stunning and absolutely gorgeous way to make a statement.

5) RED Valentino Tulle & Lace Skirt on SHOPBOP – A fun and sexy way to wear a black skirt! It’s so different, it’s so extraordinary and it’s so FABULOUS!

6) GUESS HARLEN METALLIC HIGH-HEEL SANDALS – Sexy heel! Everyone needs a sexy heel for the holidays! This is such a stunning, statement heel.

7) RED: ASOS Pencil Dress with Tulip Skirt – RED statement dress. RED is luxurious and it’s gorgeous and it’s just beautiful. I am in LOVE with RED. It’s sexy… and it’s beautiful.
