I’m known C.C. Chapman for a few years now.
Actually, let me rephrase… I had known of and was a fan of C.C. Chapman for years, but really got to know him within the last year and a half while we were both doing live digital broadcasting at The Pulse Network.
The more I got to know C.C. Chapman, the more I became inspired by him.
I love following C.C. through social media because he’s just full of awesome advice, wisdom and wit. C.C. is a good guy, he’s a smart guy and he KNOWS his stuff. When you chat with C.C. or hear him speak, you literally soak up what he says like a sponge. When his new book – Amazing Things Will Happen – arrived in the mail last week, I was beyond excited to read it and beyond excited for him.
Picking up Amazing Things Will Happen… you can tell it was a labor of love and passion for C.C. Chapman. I was so inspired by this book that I bought 5 copies to giveaway as gifts for the holiday.
I don’t want to give the whole book away, but I do want to highlight some of my favorite parts.
I love how C.C. starts off the book with, “Amazing Things Will Happen is a guide to living a good life.” Powerful words. Meaningful words. Words that mean something to everyone.
C.C. kicks off the book with his story. It’s funny, my father was actually the first person that “introduced” C.C. into my life. he had gone to a Podcasting Camp with my mom and sister and heard C.C. speak. He called me immediately and said, “You gotta meet this guy. He knows so much and really is someone you can learn from.” I had never heard of podcasting at this point, and instantly I was intrigued. What I appreciate about C.C. is that this social media world is such a wide open space, especially when he started… I love hearing the stories from the trenches, I love hearing how he had to learn and grow and find his way on his own. It makes C.C.’s story that much more relatable.
We all want to live life doing what we love, and C.C.’s book helps you get to that place, that destination… it’s truly fantastic.
From Trust Your Gut (chapter 2)… to The Magic of Turkey Pot Pie (chapter 7) – focus on what people come back for (I LOVE this!)… to Be a Duck (chapter 18) – ducks still swim when it rains, did you know that?… to Learning to Say No (chapter 23) one of the hardest things, but such an essential thing… to Beer and Coffee (chapter 27) get out, meet people and put your devices away! (my husband loved this advice!)… to Play in the Rain (chapter 34) jump in the puddle!
Every sentence. Every word. Every everything in Amazing Things Will Happen will speak to you.
I love the thoughts and I love the advice and I love the honest and real-life examples. My book is a sea of highlights… I couldn’t stop flagging pages and highlighting sections.
C.C. you outdid yourself.
As a friend, I commend you.
As a reader, you’re going to change lives with this book.
This is a book of passion and life and beauty.
Amazing things DO happen… and this book is proof.
