Duracell Power Forward Fleet Helping Hurricane Sandy Victims

Duracell Power Forward Fleet Helping Hurricane Sandy Victims

The devastation that Hurricane Sandy brought to NY and NJ was horrible. I couldn’t even keep watching the news reports because the personal stories kept making me cry for these families. My heart broke.

I’ve been a fan of P&G throughout my whole life… but nothing made me feel prouder than seeing a corporation I know, I love and I use in my everyday life, come to the aid of these Hurricane Sandy victims.

One thing I kept reading about that people needed was batteries and POWER! There were so many people displayed and nobody could get in touch with each other because they were out of power! I can’t imagine how scary it must have been to not be able to get in touch with the ones you love. When I saw that Duracell had a Power Forward Fleet, I thought it was the coolest and best idea ever!

The Duracell Power Forward Fleet, helped those in the affected areas recharge, reconnect and recover with mobile power called the Duracell Rapid Responder.

The Duracell Rapid Responder moved throughout the New York/Tri-State area to provide power relief in the areas of greatest need, making multiple stops every day to help first responders and families recharge and reconnect with loved ones. I kept thinking of how horrible it would have been to not be able to connect with my mom or my sister or my best friend. Power is something we take for granted and when it’s taken away… you feel and become helpless.

The Rapid Responder is the newest addition to Duracell’s Power Forward fleet and is capable of delivering over one ton of batteries and one thousand hours of power to remote locations. At each truck stop, people will have access to charging lockers for mobile devices, computers, WiFi and a battery distribution center to help them stay powered up when they need it most.

I applaud you Duracell!
